Post by: Tinribs on November 11, 2009, 12:04:29 PM
just installed the xonar d2x card seems very good, however ive got a problem with the engine sounds in aces, all planes engine sounds are full throttle wether idleing or anywhere else on the rev range, throttleing up or down only increases/decreases engine sound level .Ive re-installed Aces and the card drivers but still have the same problem, anyone got any ideas ? thanks shotdown.

A bug in the driver is all I can think of.  If it was a game bug, it would be a wide spread issue.

Have you tried the RightMark Audio Analyzer and was it problem free? Are you sure you have the output selected (2 speaker/5.1/7.1)? I dont know about XP but I noticed on Vista that using 2-speaker worked tons better than the 5.1 option even though I was using a 5.1 speaker setup.

You are not the first person to have problems with surround sound on this card.

asus have some driver updates for the card on their site installed them and everything works apart from erratic volume changes, skuzzy must be right that as its a fairly new card they havent ironed out all the bugs yet, also their is a software patch that gives a mic volume control and a few other gadgets.thanks fellas, shotdown
