i have not played in over two months. i tried to get in today and it says my version is out of date and needs to update and it asks if i would like to update. so i roll over the yes and it does not do anything. i can go to offline arena and its fine. it will not let me in the online arena

I would recommend you save your settings directory and maybe your skins directory...then uninstall and download and install the version of the game fresh.

Yes, as it sounds like your computer is running Vista and the game is installed in the old "Program Files" folder location, which will kill the auto-updater.
