So got me one of those Romanian WASR, any words of wisdoms except "Don't poke an eye out"? Cleaning, break-in, parts, ammo?

I want one, but guns are illegal :(
Nice buy there, I would just do the basics for an AK,

Never seen an air soft rifle in real life. Just the pics on here.

WASR-10 is a Romanian assault rifle based on the AKM... not an airsoft gun
I don't get what you mean
-
I think Mr. "I'm so cool" just shoved his toes in his mouth. :lol :neener: To Ranger's defense, they do make some awsome rifle paintball/airsoft replicas.
I kind of whished it was an airsoft, got the AK for $369 new in box, and the 1000 7.62 rounds is around $300. I'm shopping around for a better price.
-
At first I thought it was airsoft, too.
-
I figured WASR stood for (W) Air Soft Rifle. What's the orange piece on top & the silver thing in the bag? Is that a 30 round magazine? Thought those were illegal nowadays.
-
Oh, and Bubi, take no offense to the term "slick". It's just one I've always used, like dude, or buddy.

Oh I see trying to play it off now... :D (none taken)
On the subject, there's a couple of easy ways to tell airsoft guns from real firearms (if you want to catch somebody in a bluff or something :) )
Easiest way is to look at the magazine (though it's not common that the magazine will be removed as in frenchy's pic), which in an airsoft replica will cut off at the top about an inch or so shorter than the real magazine, as there will be no feed lips as they are not only unnecessary but wouldn't fit. Also in the case of magazines they will almost always be metal ribbed magazines as airsofters have some kind of weird obsession with having as much weight and as little plastic as possible.
Another thing is that there are rarely replicas of civilian weapons (or non-Russian/Soviet AK's) as most want military replicas. There were a couple of features on the receiver that immediately caught my eye and told me that it was not a replica, as it is obviously not a standard Russian AKM receiver.
Also wood is generally considered somewhat of a luxury so it will generally be have a glossier finish.

Um spanky, That there is the real deal. You dont want to get shot by it.

Nope. Some states restrict their use/sales/legality but I can order 100 of them tomorrow without a word from anyone.

Full Auto, Short Barreled Rifles and other such fun items are still legal to purchase.
The lower receiver pictured below is waiting for the paperwork and stamp to throw a 10.5" barreled upper receiver on for competition use. Now I need more ammo cans. Then I'll need more magazines to put into that space followed by the ammunition to put into the magazines.

Happy birthday Frenchy!
I came scary close to pulling the trigger on an AK about a month ago. NIB, reasonable price, 4 magazines and a grab/go bag. I had a few other things budgeted and somehow found the will power to pass on the deal. Now if we get a Christmas bonus that isn't the Cheese of the Month Club...

Ranger the silver thingy is a little cleaning/oil conteneer, the orange tag is a plastic tag you put in the chamber to show there's no bullet in it.
Here's a review of the WASR series is a Romanian variant of the Avtomat Kalashnikova series. They use a Romanian made receiver. Romanian WASR-10 AK-47 accept all hi-cap double stack magazines. The barrel is 16", chrome lined. Semi automatic in economical 7.62x39 caliber. This rifle is the same as the SAR-1 Romanian AK's, except that it has a cap attached to the muzzle :

Impactguns.com will ship it to ur door for $411 as of last week end ... or ... lay over in SLC for a day, we'll go bunny blasting. The ARs are just way out of my price ranga.

I got yer spanky right here.
Dang, Golfer, nice pieces in that collection.
Thx for the clear up Frenchy. The orange tag makes sense now. I've only seen em in yellow so it didn't register. All my weapons are pre-owned. Never had one out of the box.
