A distracted owner of a Bugatti Veyron, one of the world's fastest production cars, accidently drove the French-built automobile into a Salt water lagoon in La Marque, Texas

we had a customer years ago. she was a crackhead.
well, she calls us, asking us to send our towing company out to get her car. said she was coming home from atlantic city, and drove into a big puddle.
our tow driver was still laughing when he got the car to us.
she drove it into the bay. :rofl

Supposedly, the driver was talking on his cell phone and going at a high rate of speed when he became distracted by a pelican and lost control and drove it into the lagoon.
Reminds me of one of the funny lines from the mechanic in Risky Business after Tom Cruise drove his daddy's Porsche into the lake, "Who's the U-Boat Commander?"
ack-ack

it had already activated its cloaking device.

I think that about 90% of European cars. The 911 reminds me of an old Beetle that's been smoothed.

A pregnant Mini Cooper? :D

salt water+car= totaled
bs, we pulled several aircraft out of the saltwater and rebuilt them. They are far more prone to corrosion.
-
It's a major rebuild in any case. The interior would have to be replaced, and if the engine compressed water it would need a rebuild... I wonder what an engine rebuild on a Veyron would cost. Then the rest of the car would have to be pulled apart, cleaned and put back together. I don't know what's involved in doing all that but I bet it'll cost a lot of money; maybe more than the car is worth.
-
2 mil for a car.... he was a moron long before he ran into the water :aok
-
if you see the second vid, it looks like, that at 0.07 sec, the (2.) street sign is getting sucked under the car. Maybe this resulted in a blockading of rear wheels, which resulted into the ditch.

Maybe that was the pelican he meant to see... :D

The vid I watched looked as if he dropped his phone. There is nothing on that stretch of road to make that happen.

Top Gear comes on tonight on BBCA and James is going to drag race a Bugatti Veyron agaisnt a Euro Fighter. I wonder if he will blame losing to a pelican?

That was Richard Hammond and someone already linked the YouTube video of it earlier this week. "A new drag race" or something like that.

that episode is a re-run.....and it's fun to watch every time it comes on.
they seem to think that their eurofighter is the best in the world though........i think they've not yet met an f22 or an f18. :D

Yup. He drives it down a massive straightaway on a test track. Always found it funny they put Captain Slow in it to go fast.

Well........he was due. I tthink the other two doofs already had turns in it.
-
Hammond was last racing it against the Eurofighter. Clarkson was first when he raced them from Italy to England with Hammond and May flying a small plane.

probably the best 4th gen fighter out there, your own USAF boss Gen John P. Jumper certainly thinks so:
"I have flown all the air force jets. None was as good as the Eurofighter."
and yes they have met, and beat hornets. that was before the raptor though (more than 2x the cost of typhoon btw), better than the only 5th gen in service? no. then again we're not planning to declare war on the US anytime soon ...

That's difficult. (http://i236.photobucket.com/albums/ff255/OOZ662/rolleyes.gif)
