Title: Win7 and Thrustmaster Drivers
Post by: crutch on November 13, 2009, 01:00:31 PM
has anyone gotten a Cougar to work on Win7?

I keep hitting the TM site but all they have are the vista drivers.

I had it working with my Cougar/TM Elite pedals, before I switched to the Logitech G940.    The Logitech rudder pedals have already crapped out so I may be switching back to Thrustmaster while I wait for the Logitech stuff to be repaired and returned.

I went back to the Cougar/Elite pedal setup today, and I'm running Win7.

How can I help?

I have a new machine runing win7 istalled on a blank HD.

I downloaded the vista 32 drivers from the TM site and ran it.

installed, with 'errors' - according to win7 that is.

the cougar is not 'detected' by any of the foxy or TM software.

kinda stuck at the moment until TM takes pitty and releases a driver set specifically for win7 I guess :(

I loaded Thrustmasters win xp drivers and it works fine on my laptop with win7.

WHen I go to properties of my Cougar in Devices, it says "drivers not loaded".    But I can go to Game Controllers and it recognizes the Cougar and all the hat switches, buttons, view hats, etc are recognized and work OK.

I'm not using Foxy or anything like that - just native windows drivers for a USB HID-compliant controller.   All the inputs I need are recognized

That is strange, win7 would not recognize my cougar vista
drivers either. Loaded. XP drivers and away it went no problems.
Whats happening?  Won't load or just won't run. Iam sure you
have unpluged USB and plugged back in so computer can find the TM?

Use the HCO.2007 drivers and install them in Vista compatibility mode and administrator rights. Cougar works perfectly with Win7.
