If the Wishlist is deleted because of a request made in the Wishlist, wouldn't that create a paradox that would rip the space-time continuum and end the universe as we know it?

Interesting theory about the paradox.

I like how the old heads replied.  It's almost like they are paid employees.  That’s why I don’t frequent these boards as much as others.  They are packed full of negativity.  It seams like whenever someone has a suggestion there is always 100 plus that want to shoot it down.

In my opinion, this category is useless.  People make valid request like the addition or 37mm to the JU-87, the 90mm AAA piece, A-26 Invader, a towed 88mm, and we get four new planes for a WW1 game?

In addition there are comments from some that always hinge around "he's whining" bla bla bla.  So what’s the use of asking if only on very rare occasions some of these good ideas are never tried out?

The customer base speaks and no one listens.  That is irrefutable.

how long do you think WWI planes and arenas have been on the wish lists?

The problem with the wish list is the people who are doing the wishing. If they could first do a search to see how often some of the wishes have been asked for they could save themselves some ridicule.  Second, if they weren't so soft skinned about their ideas they could ignore the bozo's, and join in the discussions with the more interested parties.  I'm sure HTC looks at the wish list (I've seen many wishes come true over the years), thought full well discussed ideas get more attention than some idea like "we need this now" and thats it. The more interest shown in a wish by more people, the more likely it could be added to the list on HT's desk. idea

Yes HTC will delete the Wishlist on Dec.21 2012 and it will cause the end of the world!

I guess I could agree with you on that if HTC posted voting tabs on certian topics here.  Such as out of these four features what should be added next?  Out of these four GVs what one do you want?

They could cetainly tally votes and screen the votes on people who actually pay.  It would also give the impression that they listen to the customers.  You dont see that now.

They advertise this as a WWII game.  So why WWI?  I dont know why they opened that can of worms.  Frankly I dont think there will be much interest in it.

Um...they have done that...a few times...in fact, we voted on the addition of the last few planes that have been added. They were added in order by how many votes they got. :headscratch:

We could have had Helicopters and subs by now if they had implemented some of the wishes. I can't imagine why HTC didn't jump right on that............

There you go and thanks for proving my point.  They have a FEW times.  In how many years? How many times?

Subs and helicopters?  That comment was stupid.  It had no bearing at all on the previous post.

They should rename this Category to "Wouldn’t it be cool if..."

Wishlist?  Well you can wish in one hand and crap in the other.

You assemble a team of five people and see how fast you can pump out new content. :) Make sure you have a few thousand people bothering you via e-mail and phone at the same time.

Well it sounds like a time management, and or a task prioritization problem to me.  If the customer has priorities different than the provider, isn't that wrong?

I know that since the economy tanked, on-line games are more popular because of the cheap entertainment value.

Love the polar bear poster, specially from the guy who probably just learned the game LOL.

It would be nice if they gave us A new feature like a GV or Aircraft or new Ord, field gun on a frequency rate of at or less than twice a year.  Somthing to look forward to instead of just "wishing".

Don't confuse join date on the BBS as any indication of accomplishment.  This genuinely is an ignorant thread.  It's a wish list, not a request list, stating what people wish the game had, not what they demand it has.  I know it seems otherwise but it is literally named 'wish' list.

HTC has actually implemented a LOT of ideas from this wishlist.

You know how many times folks have asked for giant super-city type structures tied into the strat, to give bombers a real, worthy objective?

Guess what? Go check out the recent screenshots on the front page!

Sooo many "wishes" have been accepted by HTC, but the thing is they don't just grant wishes. They dismiss the ones they don't like, but when they see something they DO like, they put it on their own to-do list.

There've been updates where at least 3-4 of the items in the changelog were requested in the wishlist forum. One of those "ooh, that was a great idea, I'm glad HTC listened!" moments has come up many times as I read changelogs on the news page.

Things in AH changelogs that were requested in the wish list forum:

EDIT: These are just the ones I remember reading about on the forums, things folks wanted changed and they were changed eventually. There may be more I don't remember reading about.

2.16:
P-47M
change in damage to prevent spraying a wing-less plane to steal the kill
change in duration of fireballs, to stop zekes from furballing 5 mins after they were "killed"

2.15 P1:
Il2 37mm unsynched (not that it does much IMO)

2.15:
Redesigned game to quadruple number of weapon and damage items for future expansion. (folks wanted more weapons in wishlists, but HTC is capped, so they changed the game so that cap no longer limits them!)
Added new weapon shapes and slightly altered the layout of weapons in the hangar loadout selection.
5" proximity shells no longer airburst over LVT's and PT boats.

2.14 (all patches):
Self shadows
Updated terrain
Revamped shorelines
New detail setting, 4 miles (previously 3 was max)
FSAA now handled through AH settings
Changed arena configuration to allow more airplanes to be seen with high detail updates.
Rapid use of the enter key while typing into the text radio no longer results in premature ejection.
Changed port object to remove the sea wall.

2.13:
Option to auto-record all sorties
Option to name each film as you stop recording
Added 37mm option to IL2

2.12:
Added offline training and practice A.I. mission capability.
Added an additional ammo loadout to the late model Bf 109s armed with 20mm.

2.11:
Redid some of the FM handling on mossie
Redid some damage modeling on mossie (no more zippos!)
Plane performance charts in the hangar now display the weight the performance is valid at.
New camera system inside film viewer

2.10 P2:
Repositioned the layout of hangars at vehicle bases.

2.10:
Added a .r (reply to PM) command
Added beach transitions
Gun shake now works when gunning from a drone bomber.
Changed the LOD range on some objects so they could be visible for high altitude bombing.
Added way to test preview squad art offline

2.09 P5:
Added weight and rate of climb information to the E6B.

2.09 P3:
Made a change to the field order capture system to allow for multiple paths.  This
will continue to be play tested in the Orange arena.

2.09:
Added a new chat lobby option at the arena selection menu.  This enables you to chat with
other players in the lobby prior to entering an arena.
Added a new Trim Set function.
Can fly RV8 offline
Added more manual and automatic AA guns to the airfields.
Added more barracks to the airfields.

And that's just the change logs I have available since my last full install!!!

Now, HTC may or may not have had these ideas on thier to-do list already, but many of them did have comments from the community (in some way ot another) on the wishlist forum!

EDIT: Oh, and let's not forget widescreen support in there somewhere....

So why WWI?  I dont know why they opened that can of worms.  Frankly I dont think there will be much interest in it.

You're getting an entire new plane set and new arena for free.  There was a questionnaire that players filled out on log on a few months ago asking about the interest in WW1.  Apparently a lot of people were interested in it.  You fail.

When are they going to put in some NEW airframes? I for one am tired of seeing most every patch being new models of existing airframes. Shoot look at the time span from previous additions.   B-24   Ki-84  Stuka
This game would be awesome with a wider variety of airframes. Just think.
How about a Gloster Meteor or Beufighter or dare I say B-25. What about some different goon type aircraft. Maybe the german 3 engine job or C-46 commando. Russia had paratroopers too. What about some more vehicles, like the Sherman tank or something other than the PT boat. I realize some of the examples I have mentioned some would not want to fly or drive when pitted against a K-4 109 or a Tiger but then again you see people flying FM2's and P-40's on a regular basis. Really its a video game. It would be fun to see more aircraft of which there are no examples left fying today.

I have played this game for a while now. Three years I think. I would really like to see more developments in the equipment aspects of the game. Well we pay good money for this service. I'm not the only one that feels this way either.

looky there.

Yea I'm flaming myself... Look at the date of my post...2005

Geee that's 4 years by my count.  And a 5 or 6 additions since then including two planes that hardly anyone flies  I-16 and Brewster.  I remember seeing people beating up the BBS for those...

The point is why expend all this effort wishing if they are going to do whatever they want anyway.  Its pointless.  Oh yea 4 years with the Stuka now and no option for the 37mm's.  I'll give that one another 2 years before we see that.

To the one who posted...finally flaming themselves,  I guess you want to be on the pay roll too.

would you prefer to have no input whatsoever as they do what they want, or at least feel as though you have a vote in the matter, however insignificant it may seem?
