Shipped 4 packages to one address in Strongsville, Ohio on 11/6 via priority mail along with insurance and delivery confirmation(signature required)..
Client calls today, 1 of the packages was received today, has been ripped opened and its entire contents are missing..(priority mail is 3-5 business days)
The 3 other boxes that went along with this one never showed up and USPS shows they never left the post office I dropped them off at...
USPS says their insurance doesn't cover missing packages or missing contents, only packages with broken contents..
They also said that "Delivra Confomashun" is not tracking and they cannot "track" packages.. BS!! :furious
Not that the stuff in the packages cost a lot, but I'll never be using them to ship stuff ever again....
After doing some research, I'm finding that it's actually pretty common for USPS employees to steal and are rarely caught because everyone at the office is in on it....
When things start to get investigating, the packages mysteriously reappear..
Sounds like your typical government run operation as of late, don't you think?

This thread implies that people have good experiences with the USPS. :uhoh
That last line is a pot shot -- suffice it to say it has sucked through many administrations. *runs from skuzzy stick*

Simply put never send anything through US postal of any value. I would not let any company run by the government even mow my grass. They just are not capable.
UPS is much better and will stand behind what they do.

I pretty much had it in my head that if something like this ever happened, I'd never use them again to ship stuff....
So, this is the first and last time I will allow this to happen.. Every time I've used the USPS to ship items, I always
crossed my fingers, knowing full well that one day, I would get robbed by them.... At least this stuff didn't cost very much
and is easily replaced.. But yeah, I'll never use them again..

File a complaint with the postmaster and contact your elected leaders. That might get results. I have more problems with UPS than anyone else so it happens with every shipper.
-
I've been dealing with UPS and FedEx a lot the past few weeks with my new build. From getting parts in, the RMA'ing them...no problems as of yet. I rarely go the USPS route.

You should watch USPS unload the trucks. I no longer wonder wtf happened to my package. As long as its still intact! :rofl  :furious
But sticking up for a relative of mine. All the tard stuff people do when out on a route. I'd puch that crap out of your package if I knew it was yours. :D

Heh... Yeah, and you would've broken your hand trying too look cool in front of your USPS comrades while your knuckles smashed into several cast iron pans....
WTG :aok

The U.S. Postal Service reported a $3.8 billion loss in the 2009 fiscal year, and plans to propose to Congress in 2010 that it drop Saturday delivery.

lol, quite a useful and fraud free insurance there. If a package ever breaks they can simply throw it away and act like they never saw it. it's a missing package, insurance does not cover it!

UPS workers wear shorts and run from their trucks, in fact, they don't even have doors on their trucks!!
Now, compare that to your typical post office worker ;)
Yet another great example of why capitalism > communism

Agreed. Had a package I paid extra to priority mail spend 4 days at the local post office because the postman "couldn't find the address" but no one bothered notifying me. I called every day to inquire about it's delivery and was told every day it would be here by 8pm. I asked if I could just come pick it up, and was told I would have to pay a fee to do that. From now on, its FedEx only.
