Any recommendations? I've seen a few, but mostly only what our movie store has, and with ours that's not a lot. We have a Netflix account, so I can get them there, but I don't want to rent crap movies and trying to find movies on Netflix when you don't know what you're looking for, well it's just crazy. Since a holiday is coming up I'm gonna have plenty of time to waste, and movies are always a good way to do that. :)
That I can remember, seen: Letters from Iwo Jima, Wind Talkers, Hart's War, and a few others; dang movie store needs more movies.

Battle Of Britain,

-
to hell and back

If you don't mind subtitles, check out El Alamein, Das Boot, and Downfall.
-
Thanks for the suggestions. :aok
Gonna start out with: Battle of Britain, Battle of the Bulge, Saving Private Ryan (suggested by family), Das Boot and To hell and back.
Of all the ones mentioned, only seen Tora Tora Tora. Looks like a promising bunch of movies. Also, Anax, I don't mind subtitles at all. :)

Get the full-length original TV series of Das Boot, the best submarine-at-war film ever shot. You can almost smell the diesel.
Band of Brothers. All the movies listed by Stodd, plus The Cruel Sea, Aces High, Lawrence of Arabia and the original M.A.S.H. for light relief.
That'll keep you in and entertained for a day or two.
:aok

whats awesome about "To hell and back " is its a true story, the kicker is, the guy the movie is about, plays himself.

Just tell him - The RAF won!!!!
Everyone forgot about 633 Squadron.

Lots of terrible special effects.
Great soundtrack.

I was disappointed in "Flags of Our Fathers".
"Band of Brothers" is what I play whenever I'm at home sick; picks me right up.
"12 O'Clock High", the most awesome bomber movie ever made.
Don't forget "The Enemy Below" for submarine thrillers.
"Das Boot" in German is the only way to really enjoy that movie.
If you haven't watched "El Alemain" in Italian, you haven't seen a desert warfare movie; except maybe "Sahara" with Humphrey Bogart.
Did anybody mention the Czech film "Big Blue World" for Spitfire action? Very nice film, better than that crap "Battle of Britain" that was ruined with a love story.
