Legally Blonde 2 and Reno 911 Miami.  The latter was a disappointment as I thought the first season of that show was hilarious, but it quickly went down hill.

Farrell's older stuff is pretty good. It's just lately he is the same character in every single movie that relies solely on fart jokes and down-right retardedness to get a laugh. There is no depth to the writing.

I can't believe some of the names I'm seeing.  The Gods Must Be Crazy is classic.

Don't enjoy Will Ferrell?  You must be an angry elf. :uhoh

-----------------

My vote is either for The Postman, or one of those craptastic new-wave flicks by Godard or Fellini.  Ultimately, I forgive movies that suck unintentionally, but never cease to hate films that suck intentionally.

Hmm,..worst of all the movies I have seen, has to be "Pulp Fiction".  Only movie I ever walked out on before it was over.

I have not seen most of the movies mentioned in this thread.  I do not care for Will Farrell's style of humor so I will not see any of his movies.  Saw "The God's must be crazy" and it was ok.

Cannot comment on the rest as I havve not seen them.

My friend was over one night and we decided to watch a movie. We found this one that I know my sister has watched many times, but I had forgotten how it went. We put it in and it was just terrible. Good thing it wasn't more than an hour long or else fast fowarding through through some parts would have taken longer!

Not sure of the name (It's probably somewhere lost in our movie closet, think it might have been called Grizzly), the most basically goes 4 teenagers set off on a road trip for summer break and accidentally run over a baby cub in their Jeep. One baby cub does enough damage to this jeep to keep it from starting so two of them head back up the road to try and find someone to help. Mother Grizzly comes along and kills one of them. The three of them get in the jeep and drive away (hmmm so it wasn't broke?). They roll the jeep down a hill (somehow) and rather than leaving it and walking, they try to get it back up the hill and push it down the road. Mother grizzly chases them for miles and mauls one of them. He survives and they put him in the back of the jeep and keep going. Another few miles and they stop to rest. Mother Grizzly comes along and finishes off the wounded guy. the other two put gas in the jeep and set it on fire. Mother Grizzly gets away. They take refuge in a shed they find, but a few minutes later mother Grizzly shows up. Rather than using some of the farming tools to kill the bear, they try to run for it. Guy trips, girl stops to help, he says "No, I'm not injured but I don't want to get up, leave me here!" Girl stays and they both die.

I've never heard of a Grizzly chasing down 4 kids for miles just to kill them before.

My vote is for either Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon or Being John Malkovich. Both were brought over to watch on a hang-out night by friends of mine, and both were returned that night to keep their evil from spreading. Never even finished the latter, but forced myself to sit through the former and was actually angry by the end.

Honorable mention goes to Entrapment. Never finished watching that either.

Halloween 3 Season of the Witch.   This had nothing to do with Michael Myers on a killing spree.

Master of Disguise    Dana Carvey is a great comedian but this was the wrong fim for him.

The Lady in the Water    M. Night Shamaylan's bedtime story with no twist ending.

Police Academy 6     They just went through the motions for the franchise.

Iron Eagle 2     They killed off Jason Gedrick's charcter like a noob after he made ace status in first film.

The Phantom, Dukes of Hazzard, (I don't care HOW hot Jessica Simpson is, the freakin' CAR was out-acting her. That, and even as cheesy as the series could be it deserved better than a movie whose idea of comedy is Bo Duke having unnatural thoughts about the General Lee) Eragon, (COMPLETE and total waste of Jeremy Irons) pretty much any SciFi Original.

And Uwe Boll deserves a lifetime achievement award for the sheer volume of crap he's put into theaters. I don't know WHY people keep paying him to make movies.

My Daughter and I read the Eragon books (all that are out now) and loved them! We were excited about the movie.  We almost walked out...such a waste of a good book.  I know I know books are always better than the movie but I was expecting a "Lord of the Rings" type movie.

Easily the worst movie I think I've ever seen.  Ignoring the crappy acting and horrible script you have a story line that jumps all over the place, complete the a unknown island that secret agents go when they "retire" and bullets that magically fly around corners.  I really get the feeling that everyone involved in this steaming pile lost interest somewhere in the middle of production.

In fact the only reason I watched it was my friend told me that it was so bad that it wouldn't even function as a fun "bad movie night" film.  I told him he was nuts that any movie could be entertaining if you had the right mix of friends to watch it with, I was wrong.  This is a bad film.

I found the movie hilarious.. it makes some very sharp observations about our society.   I'll have to dig it up out my library and watch it again to quote some specifics.

Along a similar vein..   Are you familiar with "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?"    Not the movie, it didn't come close to doing the book justice, but the book series it self ( 5 book trilogy ).

I suspect if you liked one, you liked the other.

The dialogue in pulp fiction was brilliant.  It was entertaining and brought all sorts of life to the characters.  Sure, the movie jumped around a lot and at times was hard to follow, but overall it was great and has gone down as one of the better movies of the 90s.

Take a look at its rottentomatoes.com rating:
http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/pulp_fiction/
This site usually gives pretty accurate ratings for movies imo and Pulp Fiction has gotten a 94/100.

A lot of movies listed in this thread that can't seriously be considered "worst ever".  I think people have only seen 10 movies in their entire lives, or they post a controversial (for whatever reason) movie to get a rise out of people that like it.

Starship Troopers... seriously?  The film was brilliant.  A lot of people don't "get" the movie, true, but a) you obviously haven't seen Starship Troopers 2 or 3, which really are awful, and b) Starship Troopers should be disqualified from being "worst ever" if only for the spectacular special effects, which actually look good, nothing like today's crap CG that passes for special effects.  It didn't live up to the book?  Fine, I haven't read it, but that shouldn't diminish the movie.  Also the soundtrack to Starship Troopers is one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time.  Any of these are enough to disqualify it from "worst film ever".

Anyone that doesn't like Pulp Fiction should never ever watch a Kevin Smith movie.  I'm guessing you'd dislike those for the same reasons.  As an aside, my parents also walked out of Pulp Fiction.  I thought it was pretty dang good.  But if you think its worst-ever, you haven't seen many movies.

"Gasp!"

HOW CAN YOU CALL IT "THE WORST FILM EVAR"!!!!???

One of the best war movies of all time.

First time I saw it I was 4 years old. I saw it with my dad when he was watching it on VHS.

From start to finish the movie is burned into my head. Especially the tank VS 1911 and eye snipe part.

Ive always taken a liking to sniping in games since then. I snipe almost every round in call of duty...

What were we talking about? Oh yeah, Great movie. Thats just my opinion though.

the worst film ever is 99.5% of all the movies made, once, once in awhile they make someting worth watching but I'd rarely spend money to see any movie made in the last 20 years or so.

I spend most my viewing time watching TCM,anything, even musicals made in 40's or 50's is better than the fluff they try to pass off as a movie nowadays. Most are remakes or stolen ideas that have been done before.

Ocasionally they make something thats entertaining, but I still wont spend a dime to see them, well some of the animation films are OK.But I'm biased on that subject as my cousin has worked on many of them,Roger Rabbit being a film I'm sure most are aquainted with.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying RR was good just that he worked on the film, last I heard he was working for dreamworks as a cleanup artist.

First time I saw it I was 4 years old. I saw it with my dad when he was watching it on VHS.

Ok, no fair making me feel that old!  :furious

<snip>Anyone that doesn't like Pulp Fiction should never ever watch a Kevin Smith movie.  I'm guessing you'd dislike those for the same reasons.  As an aside, my parents also walked out of Pulp Fiction.  I thought it was pretty dang good.  But if you think its worst-ever, you haven't seen many movies

You could be right.  It is why I worded my selection of "worst ever" the way I did.  As of this minute I only have 806 movies in my DVD collection.

Why am not surprised that you would actually take the time to count, catalog and track them, Skuzzy. :)

A lot of movies listed in this thread that can't seriously be considered "worst ever".  I think people have only seen 10 movies in their entire lives, or they post a controversial (for whatever reason) movie to get a rise out of people that like it.
An intelligent post.  From a Boilermaker, no less.   :salute
I graduated from there a long time ago.

To build on Boiler's premise, it is better to try to call these films 'the Most Disappointing Film Ever.'  There are unlimited bad films, most of which one knows are bad going in.  It is the films with unrealized potential that truly suck.

Already mentioned, but deserve "Most Disappointing" status:
Pearl Harbor
Flyboys
Battlefield Earth

Not yet mentioned:
Out of Africa

Everyone has their own reasons for going to a movie.  Due to that fact, it is not unreasonable for many people to have widely diverging opinions on any given movie.  Sometimes an opinion can be easily skewed by the expectations someone has for a movie.

Example;  If you go to see 2012 expecting a soul searching, in-depth perspective of life on our planet and what it wrought to bring down such a reign of destruction upon itself, you would probably conclude, "That movie sucked!!".  On the other hand, if you went looking for a special effects extravaganza with a really shallow story, then you might have enjoyed it.

There is no right or wrong here.  It is just an opinion based on that persons own perspective.  Someone claiming someones opinion is wrong is just another opinion that carries no more weight than the original opinion.

In my opinion, the question of "Worst Film Ever" cannot be answered by anyone that has not seen every movie ever made.  Then you would need some number of those people to be able to get something close to an accurate assessment.

However, "Worst Film you ever saw" is something everyone can have an answer for.  However, those answers will be based on what movies the person has seen.  Whether it is 10 or 1,000 films seen, most people will have an answer to the question.  Just because someone does not like the answer, does not make it a wrong answer.

Might want to start getting some overtime in now so that you can replace them with Blue Ray.

Highlander 2

For me this was the most disappointing film I've ever seen, seeing as the original was my favorite at the time.  What a let down.

I will never own a BluRay disc.  I refuse to support that industry.

Im curious why?

With prices on BluRay and HDDVD players having fallen to the reality level, I'm thinking of picking one of the two up as Christmas gift for the house, but I'm concerned I'll end up with a Betamax or Laserdisc player if I choose incorrectly.

I should mention that I'm not even close to an expert on the subject.

Bladerunner takes the cake for me.  I can't stand that movie.

And yet I know people who worship that movie like a cult.

The Talented Mr. Ripley...
