Title: New landing units
Post by: 321BAR on November 19, 2009, 11:53:59 AM
Yes we have the LVTA2 and 4 but what if we could add in LSVs LSTs and LSDs? we could really use some amphib sherman LSTs and for near shore base assaults why not add in some landing craft with 20 to 30 men in each? so when used in numbers we could capture a town or port with a large number of troops? itd make things easier in ways and harder in ways... the landing craft would be defenseless but larger amount of troops. and if we used LSTs in the game thatd also add to our gameplay. i actually dont know if this has been talked about before

A Landing Ship (Tank) is a great idea, just so long as it has to be loaded with live GVers, not drones, and must sail to its destination. It would then make a lovely target for an enterprising bomber-jockey short on perkies: 'Let's see, that's four Tigers at xx each, plus one LST . . .'

 :aok

It can't be any tank though. Maybe a good opportunity to add the M4A3 Sherman to the game?

There is no such thing as a bomber jockey short on perks.
The choices for spending bomber perks are VERY limited. :frown:

Hence the need for the A-26  :D

But on-topic, being able to transport GVs would be a very nice and VERY useful feature to have!

Not if you ram a hillside with all three Ar234s as often as I have. OK, let's make a LST an 'attack' target for fighter-bombers instead.

yeah. and what about the Landing craft idea? have 30 troops run the beach to a close Vbase or town? or even use a landing craft with a jeep inside with troops?

The A-26 should not be considered a bomber.  :D
