Title: AvA War - The Battle of the Reichswald (Dec 3-17th)
Post by: Mister Fork on November 19, 2009, 07:22:16 PM
The Battle of the Reichswald occurred in a forest in Germany from February to March in 1945.  Both the American and German forces fought hard in this hard battle for two months which would determine the outcome of any further pushes into German territory.

How this Works
- There are four air and one ground squadron allowed per side.
- Each War Squadron is recoommened to be created by existing squadrons interested in the War
- The winning side is determined on top two SQUADRON scores and top Ground squadron. They MUST be one of the squadrons however to qualify for the event.
- Should there be a split between ground and air battles, there will be no individual side winner but a tie.
- Each side has a budget. Squadrons are to appoint a commander and a representative for the respective AvA forum. Once each squadron has a rep, they can PM the AvA staff for access to the private forum channel.
- Although the war is over December 17th, units are encouraged to continue and fight in the AvA until December 31st as the scores are based on month performance, not the two week event.
- Remember, the more stuff you blow up and/or shoot down, the more points your squadron gains.

Initial Budget
Luftwaffe $500,000
German Army $100,000

USAAF $700,000
US Army $100,000

I'm interested. What times will most be flying? I'm lone wolfing it so a squad will have to adopt me for this.

Like TT I'm torn between the 109, and the 38.

Sounds fun. I have puffy Time Zone flak, at which time of day is this supposed to run :pray?  Lately I'm flying alone, so I dont know which squad could pick me up and I dont know which side I would join. I suck in the B-38,  :joystick: that's all.

thanks for future replies.

For now we have two squads officially signed up.  Of course, being flexible, if a squad wishes to participate in the event, depending the side the choose, we'll let their score add up.

Here's how we can do with with limited numbers:
1. For this month, Bishop's will be Allied forces and Knights will be Axis
2. Aircraft choosings will be based on year, date, and location
3. For battle one, we will use February 1945 and Germany vs American forces.
4. Remember, it's the combined score that adds up - and you get lots of points for blowing stuff up.
5. There are two war elements - both ground and air.

I have a question as to why the Shermans for the allied side (obviously) are perked? Is this really necessary, considering we don't have any other form of tank on our side?
