HT,
Can we get the malcom hood on the 51B please? The current greenhouse is not conducive to good SA.

lol you obviously never flew a macchi 205 or a a6m
-
Yes Malcom hood would kick ass!
Wasnt it only fitted to the RAF Mustang MkIII?? If so it will need a new RAF colour scheme - but that would kick bellybutton too.
-
Can I have open canopy?
I wan't more SA.
-
Yes a Malcom hood and proper markings please!

Malcom hood was on US planes as well.
-
You're catching on!
-
Malcom hood was fitted to U.S. P51B the
P51B-15 I believe it was dunno 100% because I'm too lazy to go look it up right now. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)

The hoods were fitted to Mustangs by a private company, in the field. Most certainly, no Mustang rolled out of the NA factory with one on...

I believe Col. Bud Anderson's P-51B had the Malcolm hood, so at least SOME USAAF P-51B's had them.
OTOH I don't think I would want one in AH. The visibility increase is minor, and there IS a slight speed loss. The bars in the P-51B don't affect vision much.
Perhaps make it optional (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Not some, but many USAAF P-51B/C's had them fitted - and at least one(prolly more) razorback P-47 had a Malcolm hood fitted!
