Title: Credit for kills
Post by: BirdDog on November 20, 2009, 10:46:39 PM
I shoot down a c47 with a hurri.   i got no credit for it.  Why.   Also what does it mean when someone steals my sheep?

I shot down a B-26 and just got a assist.  Nobody was around but me at the time.

Did it ever occur to you he may have been engaged and damaged before you got to him?
How long you been playing this game now?

I tried to steal Stang's kill last night.  He left a perfectly good Seafire floating back down to earth with no tail, i nailed it and exploded him, expecting a text book BK kill steal - nothing.  I didn't get kill, no assist, no tears from Stang...  The system needs fixing.

LOL in case you're not joking...

Among the changes for version 2.16 Patch 0

•Changed plane damage scoring so that any further damage that is done after a critical component is destroyed
is not counted towards the scoring of the kill and assists. Critical components are as follows:
complete (not partial) wing loss on one side, loss of all horizontal stabilizers,
loss of all vertical stabilizers, loss of rear fuselage, and fuel fires.

Tragic. I quit if it's not fixed.

For someone that hasn't played in a long time, these changes came as a horrible, horrible surprise.

Why horrible? IF you shoot a planes wing off or tail off the noob thief cant steal the kill. Its all win/win.

Glad to see the squadron Intelligence Officer's job has been made easier through the elimination of doubt who got the victory.

Because it is well known that 64.62% (give or take) of Furball's lifetime kills are at the expense of his squadmates, with a further 28.37% (give or take) stolen from the AH population at large.

The remaining 7.01% (approximately) of his kills are proxies awarded when one of his squadmates ram-tards a buff and disintegrates before the kill is awarded.

It's true, I swear.

I was going to say I like the new model. Can tell you I had 3 consecutive kills a few months ago where I blew wings off and tails off and then watch people steal the kills as they float down.

However, back on the subject. I've had the same thing happen as the original poster and no missing parts.

Maybe just me but I got a proxie kill yesterday on an enemy that augered while being chased by a teammate. Perhaps he never landed any shots on him but he was much closer to the death than I and I never fired a shot. Unless there was another that augered that I couldn't see at the same moment. I know others that I thought I killed and saw the tracers hit with no kill or assist. Is there only one assist and one kill awarded per Death?  :headscratch:

But, how do you steal your squaddie's kills with the new, flawed, system?

My gripe exactly.  There is no enjoyment in taking a stranger's kills.  My squaddies kills though are priceless!!! :x

Deadalot would be mad.... IF he ever actually hit anything well enough to enable one of us to steal one of his kills.  He really should just go back to flight simulator, not having guns suits him.  :aok :D

I dropped troops at a port last night.
An F4u came zooming in and killed me after the drop.
The troops went in and we took the base while I was in the tower.
I got a maproom destroyed message but no credit for the take, what's up with that?

As your SAS avatar says "Who Dares Wins", similarly, "Who Dies Loses" is also very true.

Try turnfighting. You'd be surprised how many will auger trying to get that easy goon. The only reason to let yourself be vulnerable is if your trying to drag them from the troops in the chutes.
<sarcasm>
Really when you get down to it. Not getting credit for a kill or a capture is no big deal. I mean so many here are fighting for their chess piece.. umm I mean country. It's Win The Warrrrrr. Who cares about the individual or their scores.

Ladies, I did not mean that he had to fight him.  A goon trying to run troops alone is a suicide run.  What I meant was a little planning like a fighter or two with you?  The way it is now I see it as a deterrent of repeated suicide runs hopping that eventually troops will take.  And no, I am not saying that this is what he was doing.  Just saying why I like it the way it is.  Same in airplanes, if you get killed by someone before your victim dies then it is no kill fo U

Wow, you are an amazing strategist (definition here: http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=define%3A+strategist as i know that Turkish is your first language).  Have you ever thought about joining the army to be a five star general?  I think you would be known as 'Dedalos the Great' in no time.
