Whirlwind!
Neat little bird :)
-
Westland whirlwind?
Wasn’t it very slow and not very maneuverable?
-
Gtoraii,
For 1940 it was very fast. 372mph IIRC.
It had major reliability issues. It used first generation inline engines that were blown to 780hp. If they'd been able to put Merlins on it, it probably would have served through the entire war. However it would have required an major airframe redesign and they opted not to.

No good in AH. It has 4 x 20mm cannons. The niki and f4u are enough ;)
-
pdog_109,
Yes, but it has two engines and only 60 rounds per gun. There are other aircraft that I'd like see, but the Whirlwind is a neat fighter.
Lots of fighters have 4 cannon in AH.
F4U-1C
Fw190A-5
Fw190A-8
Hurricane MkIIc
Me262A-1
Mosquito Mk VI
N1K2-J
Tempest MkV

Oh btw, this little plane wont be a chog... its got 4 hispanos, but only around 60 rnds per gun ... 240 rounds total. Think of it as a slow tiffie with good turn ability :)
