are you going to be allowed to re-up when you are shot down, or is it going to be limited to first 15 min?
Title: Re: December FSO – Point Blank Range – Europe January 1945
Post by: Squire on November 21, 2009, 05:23:46 PM
Nobody gets to reup when they are shot down unless 2nd lives are in the setup. In this case the answer is no, as in most FSO designs. The 1st 15 minutes is for discoes only.

What Squire said.

Many players up with the wrong fuel or loadout and reup. Also some may crack up on take off.  They can roll again with out asking in the 1st 15 min.

Sometimes fields are left open or we miss something, but FSO is almost always a one life event. Anyone caught taking advantage of our mistake and re-upping over and over can quickly find themselves in the tower for a few months.

This is a question, NOT a complaint.  Why no P47M??

Will the terrain be snow cover?

And why no TH-152?

What's a TH-152?

If the terrain's not updated (like it wasn't for Red Storm) then it will still be rainforests and palm trees.

And why no TH-152?
Because it's January not April :)

Converted or not, I hope this uses the rhinewin terrain. :pray
Rhinewin would be palm trees if not converted just like the other one is unfortunately...

Old terrain. Sorry guys. Wish I could use a new one.  :frown:

From what I heard the Ta-152 and the P47M were not out yet, at least in numbers so I decided to just leave em out.

Are terrains still being converted? Or has this been put on the backburner? I think the last time I saw a new scenario terrain was the one that was converted right after the new version came out for Coral Sea.

Yes.
There are several new or updated terrains on the server, and more are being worked on. It's a daunting task, but those doing it, enjoy creating them.

Gotcha, I had no idea of the timeline for that sort of thing.

BTW:  Giving a CiC an assortment of aircraft and letting them make a lot of the choices in what to use is a great idea!   :aok

This looks like a fun one all around!

Can you ever HONESTLY say the Ta-152 was "out in numbers?" OR the P-47M, for that matter?

:D

Filth needs to post his pics where he got to bunch of rearming bombers with his 262.

it ties my stunt.  Shot down next to enemy airstrip, walk up to rearm pad and wait cons to rearmed.  The first and only victim i killed with my .45 was the CiC.  Assassination style.

It was 13 if I recall correctly, the 19 total was tanks added in from the follow up ground battle. :)

   Good times!

LOL
I love that picture!  :aok

To answer your question, manual calibration and bomber formations.

As time goes on I see a real tendency for FSO to use manual calibration. Those C.O.'s that are reading this you may want to 'brief' everyone in your squad on how to do it if they don't already know how.

Bombers will have 20k airstarts.

If we get the manual bombsight I see no reason not to include wind....

The sight will put it in a pickel jar even with 130 mph cross!

Dont know if this even possible but how about some bad weather, large cloud formations? Might add some to this high powered air battle
to get lost in large clouds.

Will have strong, gusty winds above 21k.

I plan on using the default winter Rhine terrain cloud file. It has just what you are looking for DH367. :)

Is this the map that was used for the battle of the bulge FSO a while back?  If so the clouds were so thick there was a furball almost within icon range and nobody knew it until after the frame.  :x

I think so branch, but not sure. Nef might remember, I think that was his design.

It is a nice looking terrain except for the rivers. They are very jagged.  :frown:

Actually, it is not the same map as last Decembers FSO.

That looks like the Rhine Terrain,  Last year we used the Ardennes Terrain. But Clouds can be made for any terrain like that.

There should be a cloud file for that terrain around somewhere from DGS.  Brooke had several different cloud sets made up.  Check with him DadDog.

This is cool - with so many options, the CiC's choices and ride selections should have a major outcome on how each frame pans out. Good luck to whoever gets the job.

Whatever, can't wait. :x
