wow.
Because of the troops manning it and the distinctive taper to the cannon barrel, all I can think of is the PanzerJagerkanone 41. I have never seen a picture of it and it was reputed to have pak 36 carriage...which that does not look like.  But it must be the elusive 40mm taper bore..

Hum... I'll guess a 4.7cm Pak 177i.  That's an Austrian Bohler Modell 1935 in German service.
The photo sort of supports this as my fav book on German equipment says:
"most avilable Boher guns later transfered to coastal defence"
and that does look like water  :)
