Wonder if the 'Mythbusters' team will test this one out? I doubt it . . .

It is a fake, search for the title on Google.  It also says so in the video description :).

However, I think the bit where the wing came off was done with an RC aeroplane.  That IS good flying!

Do a search on here. There was already a thread started about it. It garbage FAKE FAIL

If this isn't fake I could see two things that could make it work.  If you haven't seen the video where a F-15 collides in mid-air with another mig during training and lands with his wing missing, the reasoning behind this is that the thrust the engine has versus the weight of the plane making the object/plane more like a bullet.  These stunt planes/Rc planes are very light with alot more thrust then weight ratio making it possible to fly without wings period.  The only thing you would need wings for is for the aileron and lift, but since the plane is already off the ground when the wing flys off, the stall was the most critical part to get under control.  After that just like in aces high aileron to the left with left rudder.  But since the planes in AH are not as light as this stunt plane it is impossible to get that slow and stay in the vertical- End result that I believe made it possible Weight/Thrust Ratio.

Think of it this was it is possible to have a plane in the vertical completely stabilized in the same spot in the vertical with the thrust = to the weight without stall.

While the video is a fake, TnDep is correct with his explanation of how 'knife edge' flying works.  It's a common trick with RC planes because their thrust to weight ratio and I also believe some stunt planes are also capable of knife edge flight.

Itīs a fake...mad by a german (!) TV-show (Galileo on PRO7) to show how fast vids are spread on the internet. They even showed a make-off, plane was rendered...

So you're saying that what happened in the video, could happen in real life?

What happened in the video with the wing falling completely off and landing using the knife edge flight maneuver?  No, but the knife edge maneuver is possible in real life.  Stunt pilots that fly planes with a high thrust to weight ratio often use this maneuver as part of their routine.  I was just saying that TnDep's description how the knife edge flight maneuver was correct.

However, in AH it is possible if you are missing half of your wing.  You can use the knife edge flight maneuver if you're low enough on the deck to safely ditch, it's not easy by any stretch of the imagination but it is possible within the realm of AH.

I know it has been said it is fake....but you can see where the change happens on the ground....as the plane come from the grass to the runway, play and hit pause a couple of times and you will see in three to four frames size changes......just saying

oh yeah and it goes from the real plane just before it goes through the cones...the film skips backwards

ahh yes this reminds me of the time i almost crashed on landing when my quartering headwind was blocked by a massive hangar an the plane jus dropped, immediately went balls to the wall an saved my tail on the for realzitos , or atleast from expensive damage....i had both wings

yes it has little relevance i jus wanted to tell my story to flight enthusiasts

You have to think outside the roam of what you think is logical.  What I mean by that is, if you see a RC Plane do a stunt, it is possible for a real plane to perform the same stunt.  The only other factor you have is the G force put on the actual pilot.  Now G force is controlled by gravity forces pushing our bodies back towards the earth's mass, we all know that.  Now if you created an opposite force that pushed against the mass of the earth in a equal ratio you would then be in a no gravity state.  This making any maneuver possible, if you think outside the technological age we are in now.  We do have technology now that uses the Earth's magnetic field to fly a plane without an engine but this is in the baby stages of design.  But even that doesn't stop the G-Force Earth has on a pilot, until that technology arises, we are still controlled by gravity.  And, yes I am a mathmatical geek, I love it.

I'm not saying this video is fake or real I don't know and really don't care because it is possible reguardless and alot more stunts greater then that if you step outside the logic of our own technological age.  Think a 1,000 years in the future what will we be able to do?? Now think 100,000 years in the future and what planets we'll have explored and the speeds we might travel at?? It is possible, not only plausible but a reality!

The people who made the video admitted it was faked, what more proof do you want.  And you're saying that what happened in the video is 100% possible in real life?

I am talking about the maneuver performed reguardless if the video is real or not.  I'm sure the video is fake, but what I'm saying is that it is more then possible to perform manevers like this in real life you don't even need wings to fly period.

Now this next statement might go over your head and if it does please research it because I am not going to keep explaining myself.  If you have a large amount of heat within a particlar object and then add rotation to that object, this creates a magnetic field around the object.   If you use the objects magnetic field against the Earth's magnetic field you can go 10,000 mph to 0 mph in 1 sec if the technology behind the magnetic field machine is capable of this maneuver.  What I was saying in the previous statement is that you would only need the technology to stop the G-force on the pilot and then basically any maneuver is possible.
