It's been 18 years and you're still the Greatest Frontman/Singer in Rock & Roll History.

A good few years back an Antique dealer friend of mine had me drive him to Nottingham, to a fine arts auction...he was banned from driving.
In the auction was a Queen Ann style chair made by some famous furniture maker dude. This chair happened to owned by Freddy and he bequeathed it to one of his Aunties. The auctionear had the provenance to back the statement.
The auction house was crowed as they so often are for Fine Arts. There wasn't a seat in the house except for one. No one would use Freddies Queen Ann chair. It wasn't out of respect.
Poor Freedie...he may have been as queer as a nine bob note but the boy sure could sing. :salute
edit the chair made one thousand seven hundred quid.

Freddy was one of the last true showmen.

Too many years ago, myself and a few biker friends rode over to the regular Friday night College bash at Cams Hall in Fareham, Hampshire. The band was definitely a cut above the usual and so was the entrance price: fifteen bob, 75p post-decimal. They finished with 'Keep Yourself Alive', we cheered them to the echo and then stood them a few beers before calling it a night.
'Expensive, but worth it for such a great band, they'll go far', we all agreed afterwards . . .
:salute the greatest showman-singer I'll ever meet.

A little off topic except for the date the then drummer for KISS Eric Carr died on the same day from some rare kind of heart cancer.
