That air controller must have not grasped the "we are going into the hudson" part.

The pilot did spit it out pretty quick which if you learn anything about communication over the air you should learn to go slow but of course Sully was a little busy at the time and applying the rule fly first and communicate second.

Thanks for sharing.

That air controller must have not grasped the "we are going into the hudson" part.
the pilot said it in a pretty short terse tone. the controller may have missed it.
even had he heard that statement, he's going to do his best to continue to give the pilot assistance, and/or options.
that calmness is why these pilots train so hard.
i booked a flight to orlando last january. coincidentally, it was on an airbus, and with american airlines., mom, and brother said i should try another airline. i went with them, because they had the only flights that could fit the schedule i needed to keep to. wasn't a bit worried........

Even if the controller heard that he was going into the Hudson, his job is to get everyone safely to the ground. The pilot, understandably, did not fully communicate with the controller and therefore the controller was doing everything in his power to give the pilot options to alternative landings besides the Hudson.
Very good find! :aok
