Title: Forum Typing Issue
Post by: Sloehand on November 25, 2009, 09:10:14 PM
When posting or replying, in the text box, my cursor is flashing on an off in a somewhat syncopated rythmn instead holding solid.  Further and more importantly, when I begin to type and fill the text box below what is initially visible, the screen keeps scrolling up after I type.  I can't keep the line I'm typing on displayed.  I have to scroll down to find my last line and as I type the text line jumps up and down.

I have no idea what may be causing this and it does not occur anywhere else on my system when I'm typing in anything else.  Otherwise I would think a malware macro was causing this, but as I just lost my hard drive last week and installed a new one, reloading everything from scratch, I think I have a clean machine.   This problem has occured contineously for the past week since reloading AH and getting back on the Forum.

What internet browser are you using? A few people had the same problem earlier this year...I figured out that with I.E. 8 the boards had to be viewed in compatibility mode to stop it. There was a version of Firefox that caused it too but I can't remember the exact version, but I believe it's been fixed in the latest rev.

I had the same problem using IE 8 but it works fine in compatibility mode.  Thanks for the tip Gyrene.  BTW, to do this in IE 8 go to the "Page" menu and select compatibility mode.  Once you select it there IE remembers the selection and will use compatibility mode whenever you go to the forums.  Other non-AH websites don't appear to be affected.
