Its a 68 SS396 4 speed....The locks didnt work and one side bled off over night, when he came in the next morning it was on its side. 2 year resto, the guy never drove it on the street!!

Kinda careless on the operators part....its a shame about the car though.
At least there plenty of repair parts for the Camaro out there.

Careless indeed. Time to pull out those ruby slippers. :cry

Spicoli can fix it. :aok

That's gotta suck, looks like he just added a few more years onto that restoration. The guy should of never left it up over night like that though, why not just take the time to of lowered it back down.
-
Let's see, the locks don't work and he left it on the lift overnight anyway. I think the result is Gods way of saying he was too stupid to own that car.

i work on cars for a living. in almost 30 years, i've never left a car up in the air without double-checking the safety locks.
on inground lifts, i generally put a deadman under them in addition to the lock on the anti-rotator bar. on above ground lifts like the one pictured, i always lower the car onto the locks. if it looks like it's still dropping on one side, then i know they;re not engaged.
i only ever leave cars in the air when absolutely necessary though. seems there was a large bit of carelessness there to me.

oh dear, i feel very sorry for that mechanic :(

... his old man's a tv repairman, hes got this ultimate set of tools :D

He can still drive it though. A little banged up but at least he can say he drove it. :devil

not necessarily.....the front clip is bolted on on those camaros. it more than likely shifted on a fall like that

PRETTY BIG craftsman decal on it, but i didn't think they sold lifts.
my landlord just installed a new twinpost lift for me here......to replace the 30 year old inground that blew out 3 weeks ago. thankfully, i didn't lose any cars on it.
-
Look at the bend on that right front post... :O I hope that's just dents.
-
If you go into the Photobucket account you can see a couple more pics of it.

I saw that but expected it to be red if it was something Craftsman sold, which I doubt that they did too.

just lucky no one was working on it at the time.

Even if the safety locks had been working, why was it necessary to leave it in the air at all. He should have let that car down before he left. It wouldn't have been a big deal to raise it again the next day.
Lesson learned I guess.

a lot of mechanics leave cars in the air. i even do sometimes, i just doubklecheck the locks.

The tires look very dirty ....it appears more like a car accident than if it had fallen.
