Fairly simple to setup for, just takes a friend to fly drone for you.
Come into the TA, chose any field other than A1 (field guns turned off there)
Jump into a manned gun, get your friend to up a plane.
When he's in sight hit control Tab (enable friendly lock) then hit Tab. This should put a green highlight box around his icon, and give you a green X in front of his plane. Thats the Lead Computing Gunsight.
Get the target to start making passes, each one a bit more offset to the side.
You should pick it up pretty quickly.
If you can't find a friend, give me a shout, I'll play drone for you.

Ghosth can you do the same setup for Whirlwind's and Ostwind's as you stated for field guns? Thank You Ketinkrad
-
yes sir you most certainly can, its the fastest way to learn lead shooting in them in my opinion.
Of course some depends on the pilot you choose to fly target.
He can make it easy or hard depending on his approach.

Thank You Ghosth for the information. Ketinkrad

what would be the max effective range for manned gun at say a vbase to take down a bomber?
-
37mm hit will severely damage or kill most bombers out to 3k.
The trick is trying to hit them out that far. I'd say most hits fall in the 1.5 or closer range.
Beyond that judging lead and elevation are in the realm of pure luck or genius class.

so what would you classify killing 3 bombers at 7.7 and 8.5 alt aboce the fiield? That would have to be super genius I think.

Remember, icon distance is in yards, altitude is in feet.
Divide that 7.7 or 8k up by 3.
So out there, yes, lucky most likely, good shot in the manned gun, very likely.
Perfect eyesight, perfect hand eye coordination, and years to practice make it very possible.

icon in yards alt in feet
7.7k x3 23,100 if seen from ground
7700 alt is only 2566 yards though
icon in yards alt in feet
3k x3 9000 feet
