Note HTC art dept. file this under "we'll get to that one much much much later"
I was in a hangar in kissimmee FL surrounded by 6 p51's last week but didnt get to fly any of them, only gawk (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/wink.gif)
so being the escapist dreamer I am. I returned home and wiped the dust off my keyboard and got the latest AH patch and went mustanging, valiantly thwarting HTC's lufberry drones.
thence upon inspection of HTC's mustang 3d models from external view I found that they seemed slightly odd up front. the AH 51 nose job dosnt quite capture the look of the real mustang.

Don't know if any of you have 'American Warplanes of WWII', but if you do, there is a color picture and illustration of the same P51D - # 413926 - from the 375th Squadron, 361st Fighter Group... I've seen the picture elsewhere as well...
In any case, that D looks badass... I'd love to see that paint job show up sometime.

Damit Cita, I was there last saturday too. Did you went into the second hangar, next to the "5 ponies hangar"?
There is a Cap 230, T6 and ... "The 5 stars spitfire".
Go ask for Brad, he's the son of the owner. He is a great kid, he's 21. He was complaining about not being able to solo on the P51 till he is 23 because of the insurance (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif) (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)
He is very humble and WW2/aerobatics (the CAP 230 is his) dedicated.
The 353rd ponies are beautifulll, couldn't take my eyes off them, all the side till the tail are "chrome"...wow! Raahhhhhhh...aggrrrrr....
<Frenchy passed out ... again.>

Cit I think it's a limitation of how many polygons they are using. If you want a more complex curvature then you get lower fps.
The Spitfire is not quite right either, but that's because it's so beautiful that no man-made image can do it justice. You have to see one in person. (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)

Funked, forget about the spitfire. I climbed in the Spit XVI, and geez, the cockpit is very very very narrow. It's funny u have the feeling that u are traped into a hole with your head sticking out.
Assuming that I'm a tall skiny guy and that you are ...more enjoying life (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/biggrin.gif)... the spitfire is definatly not for you hehehe.
On a side note, the prop in the spit looked so far away. For the ones who complain in AH of the gunsight being too close from the cowling limiting deflection shots, well, that's the way it is (http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/Smileys/default/smile.gif)
