There is some question as to the overall performance of the F4U-4 in AH.
The charts posted on the AH help page are directly from "America's Hundred Thousand".
These two performance charts are from the Vought Heritage Museum and are the same source as our current F4U-1, 1D and -1C.
They are NOT the 115 Octane Fuel charts many have seen. As noted by the 2450HP the rated HP matches the 60" inches manifold pressure at WEP in the R2800-18W. The performance is slighty better than the AH charts show but are more accurate as far as text showing the actual speed and climb at altitude.
I would ask that someone else confirm the top speeds of the F4U-4 at 20K and 25K.
Thanks

Thanks for the data :) Very interesting.

Looks like the F4U-4 is a good performing plane at high alt. I'd be afraid to mix it up on the deck with some spits or La7s though.

I usually keepa hard deck at 8K when I flew Hog. On the deck w/ no dive out / manuevering room, or E Vs. F6, Ki and Spit IX is definitely NOT a good place to be for me when I'm in the F4U. Cruising 19-23k when the superchargers kick in suits me just fine as well...

Hey Pyro,
For 60 perks how about giving us this set of performance numbers??
