My avast! antivirus is reporting this as "adware". I trust you guys at HTC, but thought I'd let you know.

I received the same avast message

So did I. what type adware was bundled with the hi res pack?
-
Same report from Avast here also.
-
I'm not worried about it. Like I said, I trust HTC. I just turned off avast, downloaded it, installed it and turn avast back on. I'm sure avast found something with its heuristic algorithms that triggered a false positive.
-
Yep, same thing here... my avast being pretty sensitive lately anyways :lol
-
probably is false but good to know avast works. i just added it to the chest and went on
-
It is a false positive.

Got the same message. I'm still installing, of course.
Malware name:
Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]
File Name:
http://downloads1.hitechcreations.com/AHHIRES2170.EXE\[Embedded_R#0001280]

It is a false positive. We cannot do anything about it.
-
Yeah, if we send avast the "false positive" report, they can incorporate it in their updates.
Let's give Skuzzy a break and stop posting since we all know (if you've read anything in this thread) that it's a false positive.
-
Recent Avast VPS update 091203-1 seems to have fixed the problem for me.
Avast was making the same complaints about SpeedFan on my system also and is no longer doing so.
-
Man,I glad I'm not the only 1 having avast do strange things.
I had the warning same as the rest, but I got a virus warning from Glary utilities thats same day.
:salute
