Well, I'm about to RMA my motherboard, and I was taking all the components off, but I almost ruined my quad core processor in doing so, the heatsink would not come off individually, so I had to twist and tug to get it off, and the processor came with it, THANK GOODNESS none of the pins broke off, just a few bent, I bent those back, but the problem still remains, my CPU is stuck to my heatsink. Is the stock thermal paste already applied adhesive or something? If so, how would I get it off?

First off, If *IF* you're lucky the CPU is still good, in my experience a bent pin due to a removal from the "thermal paste cement to HeatSink problem" always leads to dead CPU even if you bend them back.
As for getting it off, take a thin, non-sharp object to very very easily pry them apart, apply heat to melt the paste somewhat and make life easier. Another way is to heat it up some and twist the CPU around with your hand and remove it that way.
Aside from that someone like TD would likely know the best way, I learned my lesson after one CPU...Remove Heatsink as soon as possible after shutting PC down (Paste is still melted-ish), heck I still make Airflyer remove mine when possible so that way I'm not liable! :P

You can try thermal compound remover and see if the liquid can cut its way in, another would be a thin puddy knife and a heat gun (hair drier may work) heat the heat sink itself some then you can try to place the puddy knife between the heatsink and CPU and heat it up also.
THIS IS IDEAS, your processor could become unusable, do the above at your own risk.

I have heard of this. I shipped an old system to the islands and of course UPS made sure it got shook up real good. The heatsink pulled the cpu out of the socket from shock damage. A paint stripping heat gun if used carefully will warm up the paste for removal. You are better off asking a technician to do it for you.

Curious to know this as well, sounds like he may of used a ceramic paste by accident.

I used the pre-applied stuff on the stock sink. But I finally got it off after a while with a hair dryer.

I always remove that stuff and then use Arctic Silver.

interesting thread, never heard of this. I'll remember though. I have remover and the purifier, cleans cpu and heatsink up real nice.
