AH keeps disabling the advanced graphics options when I first log on,every time, its getting beyond a joke now. My system is well up to the job with a steady frame rate of 59 with everything maxed out. I have to wait up to 4 minutes to get a frame rate above 3 irrespective of wether the field I start at is empty or busy. If I want the advanced options disabled then I will do it myself thank you very much.
Reoccuring rubber bullets is the second issue, tried all the possible solutions after searching. I really need this problem sorting, absolutely no point in playing and being a score on someones sheet when -
hit a spit XVI at 800 yards in the wing with a single 50mm, no damage
hit a 190D with 5 x 30mm all in the aft fuselage,no damage
hit an m3 dead to rights with a ton of 20mm, no damage
all within half an hour, logged off in disgust, need this sorting.
EDIT, oh and bullet streams that pass by at least 20 yards away and cause damage, its like evading by guess work.

how about at least a dxdiag report... maybe a pingplotter report

Your seeing the bullet stream as being off but that doesnt mean your adversary is seeing the same thing. http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/ I'll bet this happens during an HO, or close to HO, right? I avoid even a "close to HO" because Ive been hit by bullet streams even when the enemy fighter is to far from me to even have his guns pointed at me. Game lag isnt very noticable except for any kind of HO, "no doubt made worse by the closing speeds".
So avoid anything even close to an HO.
Sounds to me like game lag. Nothing more.

You only have 2 megs of ram. This is why it takes a while to load everything AND changes the settings. Add some more ram and it will solve 2 of your problems. Your aim .... That's just practice.

the so called "bullets" going by are only the tracers, which is only 1 out many, i get hit all the time by something when the tracers are just off to one side, but the bullets themselves are already hitting my plane, then the tracers get closer.

Couldn't see the ping plot with my phone... how long did you let that run? 5 to 10 minutes or so is best. From what you can see there it shows a lot of packet loss. It could mean your not getting the "updates" fast enough to show "where" you are aiming. Basically by the time YOU see what you want to shoot, it's already moved and you haven't seen it yet.
I'd work on cleaning up my connection as best as I could. the cleaner and less things you have using your connection at the same time the better off you will be.

Multiple problems here.
1) Only 2GB of RAM. The 32bit version of Vista requires a minimum of 2GB of RAM for the operating system. The 64bit version, which you have, requires even more RAM. Your computer is simply swapping like crazy every time you want to do anything at all in the game.
That is the primary reason for most of your problems. Your need at least 4GB of RAM in that computer if you want to experience its true performance potential. An upgrade to Windows 7 would not hurt either.
2) Your Ping plot shows up to a 50% packet loss. That is just aggravating your problems with rubber bullets, and not being able to get proper positional information.

Reason I left AH................ AT&T has refused for over 3 years to fix the problem links. Talked with tier II people and even a supervisor NOPE! :old:
Just don't want to deal with the frustration any longer!

Minke, I'm in the UK and ping 141 to the MA so you are high
who is your ISP?
are you running a wireless connection or is the router on an extension from the phone point (I was doing this and had terrible "noise" on the line, sorted it with a shielded cable rather than normal phone extension)

Think it was Skuzzy who said it, as long as ping is below 300ms you're fine; Packet loss is what truly matters in those pings times.
10ms with 0% packet loss would play as well as a 200ms with 0%. 10ms with 50% packet loss would be crap compared to 200ms with 0-1% though.

Perhaps but I have to consider that I'd probably still be forced right through that same bad server/hop..............
The server belonged to Southwestern Bell IIRC and acted up from time to time way back then but wasn't as bad as it is now.
Consistently bad...........
Often enough that "planes are not where you see them" is the norm.

I'd have to think dialup uses completely different routes...maybe not
