357th DEATH DRAGONS was founded almost 2yrs ago, why is this new squad taking our "357th" is that right?

Unfortunately, you can't claim numbers. But if you PM one of their upper heirarchy and explain, most squads will accomodate.
Perhaps they just were not aware of the DEATHDRAGONS. Once explained, they will likely be willing to change if it bothers you.
If they are not willing to change even when asked nicely, they are very likely under the age of 14, and their squad will be gone anyway within 2 weeks to be reformed as a Luftwaffe only squad, and then two weeks later a ground vehicle only squad, and then you will never hear from them again.

I asked nicely just got barked at, sheesh no respect. one of the yuxford squeekers dissed our squad the 357th death dragons. apparantly they don't understand 357th is taken. Limbo0 Xtrepid and Bomber49 was founding members.

I would say that -=357FG Yoxford Boys=- is different enough from [357TH]Death Dragons to prevent any confusion.
As has been said earlier, you don't have any exclusive rights on a historical unit number. Can't even remember how many variations of JV 44 I have seen over the years, many of them at the same time..
Just try to be the better 357th ;)

look how many sqa of the same but not sure if some are still active.
3 x 71 Squadron RAF
2 x 77th FS "Gamblers"
3 x 81stKrEwSaDeRz
12 x CLAIM JUMPERS
That is just some sqa with the same name and then there are others like JV44 that divide like I/JV 44. The important key to keep in mind is that there is only one sqa that made their name for them self. and new sqa with the same name will never replace your name.

Hold on a minute, we represent the 357th Yoxford Boys of WWII. What my squad mate was trying to relay was that the 357th Death Dragons is not historically accurate. Our squad is named after an actual squadron. We will not change the name just because your squad had the number 357 before us. If we did that then we would be giving you the right to have an inaccurate name while we go to something else. We are not 14 year olds just trying to piss you off, but it would be nice if your squad was historically accurate. If you want a name that you think is cool then by all means go ahead with it, but dont disrespect history.

same squad, 3 wings. we have lots of members who only play intermittently, never seen more than 32 members active in any tour while ive been around. :)

dhart has a good point, his sqn is a representation of 357th FG "Yoxford Boys".
greens are your 357th "Death Dealers" trying to represent a RL squadron or group? 357th FS/355th FG "Steeple Morden Strafers", 357th FG "Yoxford Boys" or VMF-114 "Death Dealers"?

You're just the latest lame bunch of unimaginative dweebs to "steal" the 357 name from
game veterans such as the 357th Bomber squad (began nine years ago in AH), the 357th
Fighter Group (eight years ago) and the best - the 357th Pony Express (except for Voss),
who were created during the beta. Never mind all the the 357th's since then.
No sympathy. Mockery is all you're entitled to posting something as lame as this.

Hmmm...here we have two squadrons with a similiar name but different enough that one really won't confuse what squad is what. Really don't see the big deal about it, at least nothing to get one panties in a bunch over. It's not like the Yoxford Boys will be confused with ominious sounding Death Dragons.
Don't think this thread is going to go the way the OP intended it and spot on Westy.

I am too a founding member of the real 357th Death dragons, sounds like the squeakers or twelve year olds are just not grown up enough to play with adults. They should have named their new squad the 357th Flaming Death Dragons of San Francisco. The grown ups will get my logic.
It's funny how you and your squadron mate are telling people to act like adults when each of your posts have been nothing but insulting towards the members of the Yoxford Boys. The only ones that sound like 'squeakers or twelve year olds' so far have been the members of the 357th Death Dragons.
It's sad that you and green proclaim to be adults and yet you guys fail to see that this is a non-issue and continue to act nothing more than a petulant child that hasn't gotten her way. Only someone of your and green's intelligence might have a tough time figuring out that the 357th Death Dragons and the 357th Yoxford Boys are two entirely different squadrons, but as you can see from the majority of the other replies, no one else is confused. The Yoxford Boys aren't claiming to be or related to your squadron in any fashion, so where is the confusion? If they were impersonating your squadron then I would agree that there was a problem but they aren't so there isn't one.
Take your own advice and act like an adult. I would suggest green do the same but I've come to realize that asking someone like green to act like an adult would be like asking a scorpion not to sting.

Limbo, CO of the squad, said that he didn't even know it was a real squad. He just picked out some numbers and it turned out to be a historical squad(he found this out a few years later I guess).

The 357th 'Death Dragons' was not a real fighter group or squadron, it has no historical basis as a unit. Trying to claim so because they have '357th' in their name is misleading.

My squad is the III/JG26 9th ST WidowMakers.
We have been the III/JG26 9th ST WidowMakers now for 15 years.
My squad was using the "JG" in our names long before any of the below squad and I think they are just trying to rip off my squad name and I want them to change theirs NOW!

I will say it on this thread too i am the CO of the [357TH]DeathDragons. Now i by no means mean to disrespect the actual squad so u can shut Ur damn trap on that and stop using that as a crutch. I however have seen alot of disrespect against my squad from this new squad.
This all started with disrespectful folks in your squad. There is no actual squad called death dragons.
Just thought I'd clear that up as I'm sure you'd like to rid your group of your disrespectful folks.
