Title: Hi Resolution Game
Post by: Nr_RaVeN on December 08, 2009, 10:55:09 AM
Hi All
I'm having a hard time getting the sim to look good the AC textures look very low res. I'm running 1024x1080 and have my card cranked way up. its a fast card and a quad core box is there a way to pull more resolution out of the textures? I seem to remember the sim looking much better than it does now. I'm sure I'm missing something as I have been away for 3 years or so and relearning everything all over again.  :joystick:

What resolution are you running on the textures?  If you already have the texture resolution set at either 512x512 or higher you will probably want to download the hi-res texture pack which is now a separate download.

On the clipboard, use Options, Graphics, for some settings, and the Advanced button for more.

Enjoy.

Is there a way to be sure you are actually running the hi res pack?

if you havent got it installed you shouldn't be able to select  1024 textures from the drop down list.

imnot sure if that is true.. maybe is in newer version, but some time ago, I was able to indeed select 1024 even though I had not installed the pack..

I have noticed since the patch from a few days back that the ammo counters are blurry again.  Used to be sharp and clear unril just a few days ago.

"Is there a way to be sure you are actually running the hi res pack?"

In the Aces High Folder: C:\Hitech Creations\Aces High    There should be a file called "Hirestex", I'm pretty sure that is the Hi-Res pack, but I'm no Skuzzy so don't quote me on that.

Another thing that I think makes a positive difference in look is turning on antialiasing.  I like mine turned all the way up.
