Title: Explaination of Member Ratings in Forum Rules
Post by: Penguin on December 08, 2009, 06:28:16 PM
Why is it that whenever I see somebody's posts, under their name it always reads something like this.

HiTech
******** Plutonium member  Yadayadyadadyadadaydaydadynot now.Yadadyadaydaydaydsomeasse mblyrequired.

-------                               Yadadadadadabatteriesnotinclu dedyadaydayda.  Yadadaresultsmayvaryyadayydad
    I
 COAD                                 -HiTech

-------

I can never seem to understand what this system of ranking members based on the value of transition and rare earth metals (lanthinides to be exact) is all about.  Is it a karma system?  Or is it a demonstration of senority?  I would really like to know why, and for what purpose it exists.

It goes by post count. When you hit a certain post count, your stars go up.

It tells the reader how little life a person has, thanks to a simple glance at the post count. The more rare of the metal, the less of a life the person has.  :P

It helps us understand why someone posts a general question in the wishlist forum.  :D

This is actually a wish.

It is a wish for it to be posted in that sticky post up top at the top of every forum, to make things easier to understand for the new guys :headscratch:.

No one wants to hear what you have to say Zinc... see I can degrade you because I'm copper...

:) Only kidding, don't look too much into the numbers, there are people who post a ridiculous amount of post on here just to get more stars (I won't say any names, but a "formidable rival or opponent" comes to mind).  To put it nicely, the stars and metals reflect "how much you have contributed to the Aces High community"
