I was thinking before a battel (in real life) would happen both sides would have some clue of what and who they would be fighting ,and numbers they might be up ageinst.I think in an FSO and other special events it would be nice to have some kind of expected action an a briefing report like they had in real life.
-
Good idea... :huh
-
I think yes. Just ask your CO to put order in that form when he lets you in on the mission objectives for the week. :devil
-
I'm with you on this one sir.
Good idea... :huh
:headscratch:

And I would like to wish for side objectives for each frame, and specific orders from a CiC for each squad. Even better would be a website, maybe call it AH events, that has an outline for each FSO a week before it begins.

Great idea! We better get started on it right away!

We have all that,we dont have what i am asking for.

Let me help you out by explaining further. In real life before a battel a lot of times they knew about number of what kind of plane one attacking force they might run in to,we here a lot of times,we knew we where going into a slaughter, and so on,or numbers where expected to be light and fighting so and so a plane. We know all the planes in the (war) but not any clue whats going to be at the Field I'm attacking, its only a guess.Or numbers that i should expect to have to fight in my battel or attack.

Not exactly. During the BoB, fighter intercept squadrons would be briefed on location and approximate types/numbers of planes that spotters had reported seeing. Unless a squadron was being scrambled to intercept incoming enemy aircraft, pre-mission briefings weren't any more detailed than what we get in the FSO. You get run down on the mission, rally points, radio frequencies, number of friendlies expected and ground target assignments...other than that there was no way for a pilot to know what kind of resistance he was going to run into during a mission.

Yep during BoB that's most likely true. That was not always the case though, especially in the pacific. As far as i have herd. There where often flight briefing's (expected numbers) and so on,they may have not known the hour of attack. And i know that the numbers and planes where not always what they thought it was but it was some more info.

With the size of the maps and multiple targeted areas, this would be next to impossible to deduce. The enemy would have to co op with you and let you know what area they would be defending. We only know how many are on OUR side at the last min.
I just dont see how you could get the info your looking for.

<S> sir, I mean no disrespect, but........ Was your grandfather telling you these things? You are giving way way too much credit to military intelligence outfits. On the ground and in the air, it was a rarity to know anything other then "Expect Confrontation." In this game we have far more intel then anybody ever did EVER, in RL. For goodness sakes, during FSO, I actually know the names of enemy pilots.

Yes names which planes they like how they respond tactically more details about the individual plane performances than anyone would have known... and how to win against them.
:aok

Yes he was very helpfull, along with your comment, well done.

OK maybe I'm all wrong then, pilots never got any flight pre briefing with any idea of numbers and type of plane they would be up against.

Can't blame them Sunka...the current FSO system is not far off from what you're wishing for.

Hey Sunka, are you part of the leadership for your squadron?
