Ladies and Gentlemen,
AH2 got a brilliant Event site http://ahevents.org/eventlogs.html
But do we have a Website where outstanding flying and fighting will be awarded?
Do you wanna see your name decorated with this one:

Yes, you have the chance being nominated at the Hall of Aces, come in and find out!

Now that's cool and a very positive contribution to the community and spirit of the
genre. Scenario like atmosphere and recognition for skill and effort would have been
an integral part of Combat Tour. Unfortunately we all know where CT is at.
So kudos for someone in the community doing it on their own!
Good luck and <S> !

My previous post... I was wondering..... shouldn't this be in the Scenario section of the boards?
-
The Sunday European Campaign is not a Scenario Event. They run their own shop on.. Sundays and do a good job of it.

i understand your wish, but we follow straight these rules:
Who will be rewarded?
I. An SEC consist of 3 frames played on 3 sundays on a row.
II. Only pilots who attend all three frames and only die
once while flying all three frames have a chance of recieving an award.
The results scored in a frame where the pilot
is KIA, POW, DITCHED, BAILED, etc will still be scored.
III. A pilot’s achievement is getting higher rated when
the pilot attends all frames of an SEC and stays alive in
all three of them. Adding up scores to that achievement
and he will be decorated with a more prestigious medal
than a pilot who survived with less good results.
IV. To make sure side CO’s who command and direct
their flights from a bunker will not be forgotten the SEC
crew awards special recognition awards for successful
achievement. These awards can be ranked higher when the CO is skilled
and displays comradeship, leadership and respect for his opponent.
V. Awards are being saved and ones reputation adds up as good results
continue in future SEC’s. This works for pilots the same as for CO’s and
Squadrons.
Reported usage of foul language or unfair gaming the game during an SEC will lead into elemination of a possibility getting awarded on this Site!

Ahh forgot about the europeans on sunday. Might have to go fly with them some time.
I would not be interested in any sticker though.

I actually talked to some of them when they were setting the Sunday deal up. I have yet to make one. I'm usually tied up or forget. I'll make one sometime though.

I think I'm already subscribed to the SEC newsletter, but just to be sure, when I tried signing up for it on the new site all I recieved was a "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria.".

I can see this leading to pilots thinking twice before risking their neck to help someone out. :headscratch:

neg,
you will fly as a real group, much better, bring in your squadmates. Than you will survive 3 frames! If you went in on your own, having no wingman, it will get hard!

Not to sound like a fun squasher, but did you see how many voted to see their scores ASAP after each Scenario? Some are VERY into their scores and these types just might not be in a hurry to lay it on the line when there is a nice shiny digital medal in it for them. Nice effort, but it can and just may well be a game changer no matter how many say otherwise.

it wont have an effect on the game itself, but it will have an effect at the SEC. The Sunday European Campaign is an open Series for all, in 3 Frames each.
The Hall of Aces will award player who shows outstanding flying and results. It will nominate and award the CO and FL for their efforts. But if one might join the SEC all on his own to catch a shiny medal, he will fail. If someone step up doing the CO job, doing a FL, or come in with his Squadmates, flying together will push the chances to survieve much more
The thinking of last man standing won't work! So is my experience from dozens of those Frames! This Medal system of the SEC will add a little extra Fun. And thats the idea behind it!
BTW the next SEC is a classis Air Battle Setup, starting in January 2010! Come and join the SEC DrDEa!

actually if you think this you havnt flown a SEC. We have all sorts of persons in there. Like me, i would not hesitate to help other only because an "award". I will never get one for my flying skills. But there are others that might think this is something to fly for.
And since it is a free for all event, we want every sort of personality in there.

I can see where it could have a negative effect.
If you push realism too far in a game what happens is long long flights of boredom. Then seconds of shear excitement. Followed by long long flights of boredom.
In real life many medals were handed out posthumously. One courageous individual took it on his own to save one other or many.
Of course if your just medaling survivors your not following along with real life but you are pushing folks to not get in too deep. Folks may spend more time observing a fight to see if they have a better chance of surviving rather than getting in and possibly saving one of their own.
I hear yall have done a great job with this setup. Hope it goes the way your planing and does not backfire.

hi,
i spend a lot thoughts on that issue, but i analysed all SEC we flown right now. There are many good Sticks who will fullfilled the requiements. The idea is, to play a little different instead of the normal MA play. its a one life Events (one per hour, so you get 2 Lives) And the Logs are allways great to read, but this is a tool ,to go a bet more into details for the Gents who will attend all times. Those who are all frames have a chance being awarded. looking at the Death gives a bit more psycho
pressure. It makes it more intense too
we will see, the future and the pilots of the SEC will tell if they like it
