You guys did a great job escorting the Mongrels last night. :salute You guys had 13 kills for only 2 loses.
Also, thanks goes to the 334th FS "The Eagles" , They weren't assigned to our escort but they showed up over the target
and helped out tremendously. :salute
The last two times the Mongrels have been in bombers we've had very good escort, thanks again.

You guys did great. As you said you can't do much against diving 190's, but after that you dealt some hard blows.
334th thanks also for the support, we needed it.

You are most welcome.
We hit our assigned target with our 6 rockets apiece.. then turned INTO enemy Territory to get altitude. I had noticed before launch that the 332nd (all in bombers) were assigned to come down through that sector on the way to their target. I figured that if the timing was right we could hook up and give you additional cover on your bomb run. As it was things worked out pretty well. We were still at full strength and the 82nd had already beat off one wave of FWs but were down to 4 or so escorts. We were able to meet up early enough to make a difference.

Big :salute to Fencer & the rest of the 334th.
We had our hands filled from T+30 till closing. Got intercepted by a squadron of 8-12 190A8s. Further review of the film indicated that within the first 2 minutes the 190s had already shot down 7 bombers so we were hard pressed to get them away from the bombers as soon as possible. We really couldn't do anything to prevent them from blowing past us doing 450+ going into the bomber stream but we made up for it by removing them from the picture once they started slowing down and bleeding E.
Once we hit Fulde we spotted the 334th and they were taking care of the second wave of 190s while we herded the rest of the 332nd through the target and egress. Outstanding job on the 332nd's end on making their drop with precision. Looking forward to Friday.
