Why cant we just make it so that there is no friendly fire but the damage isnt reflected back toward the shooter?
I cant count the times I've had to work for a kill only to have some dweeb in a spixteen go into my line of fire towering me or tearing off a vital part of my plane.

Learn better SA. You have to keep an eye on friendlies as well as enemies

Doing that would drastically alter the balance between the defending target and the attacking enemies in favor of the enemies and that in turn would alter the air combat to be even less realistic than it is now.
Part of the guns air combat equation is not shooting your friends.

Sandwich, I sympathize. You aren't trying to hit the friendly, they dive into your shot while you are concentrating your aim on the enemy. In the air war there was a consquence for that. myself I would prefer a large hit on perk points rather than the current system.

Why do we need an alternative for something that's currently working perfectly?

Hmm don't believe I have seen this topic for more then 3 years.

Guess it's just me, HiTech. Not accustomed to seeing you on here at this time. :)

in aw at the begining you could shoot down your friends by accident or on purpose but if you killed more than 2 in a day then u would get no more ammo for the day. If it gets turned off here I can just imagine some dork here will join a mission and then kill the goons when they're about to drop just to get even for some idiotic reason. no thanks you dont want the friendly to get in your line of fire for one kill him faster, or second practice some sa it includes knowing where your friends are.

If killshooter were to be turned off I can definitely say I would kill my squad every day, just to see them die.
-
Sandwich why? Because it would adversely effect gameplay.
It is the way it is, learn to work with it not against it.
If your getting killshot a lot your either flying in a horde, or not watching where your shooting.

"no friendly fire but the damage isnt reflected back toward the shooter?"
lol. Yeah. An arena filled with conga lines consisting of players who are ALL
shooting thru each other at the one enemy con way out in front of them.
-
I cant even say when the last time I shot a friendly was.At least not accidently. Yes Shamus I covered you :lol Just learn better SA or if all else fails, stop flying with the horde. :neener:

Best alternative to killshooter?
Don't follow the same red plane 5 other green guys are.

Yep Mensa, the temptation would just be too great to handle.

The OP wasn't asking for killing of friendlies to be enabled- he just wanted the bullets he fires that accidentally hit a friendly to go nowhere, specifically not into his own plane and taking off his own wing.
However, having friendly tracers fly through you would cause SA problems as you wouldn't know friendly from enemy from the tracers alone, so it would still be disrupting. Back when the field manned ack did not show tracers, I used to fire at friendlies for practice. After they added tracers to the manned ack I stopped that practice as it would annoy the targets.

Karnak already answered this.
Allot fewer guys would return from out numbered encounters, for a reason that is unrealistic.
