Title: NOE Strike
Post by: Stixx on December 13, 2009, 07:08:12 PM
All the recent talk of NOE missions and horde tactics got me to thinking of offline missions.
Of course a mission editor that finally works for me helped as well, thank you HTC. :salute

Allow me to present you with my latest offering. Noestrike.

www.nuttinspecial.com/missions/noestrike.zip (http://www.nuttinspecial.com/missions/noestrike.zip)

The mission takes place on the ndisles map.

Defense is comprised of three groups of Hurri IIc's, Typhies, and Spit 9's, each group is launched three minutes apart.

The attacking force is comprised of a first wave of 12 190D's that will vulch your second and third flight of defenders on the runway.

Three 15 plane formations of 110's will come from the SW at 800' to hit the town.

Three 20 plane formations of JU88's will come from the W at 3000'. They will drop your fighter and bomber hangars.

Three 20 plane formations of JU87's will come from the NW to hit your town then dog fight any defenders.

Three 20 plane formations of C47's will come from the NW on the deck to land north of town.

Hope you enjoy.

That, sir, was AMAZING. Flew as a 190, took a radiator hit on my first strafing pass of the runway, but i took a good number of the defenders with me before my engine quit and the flack took me down.

again, AMAZING  :aok

Damn that was fun!  Flew the Spitty.  I had to resupply 3 times.  Got caught up in the moment and tried to give friendly AI a 'Check 6'.   :lol

Great Job.  :aok

The only complaint i have is when the bombers completely overkill the hangars, my frame rate drops like a stone, but other than that its definitaley one of the best offline missions ive ever played!  :rock

I'm glad everyone enjoyed my little project.

I like that image Ranger, might hafta swipe it. LOL

I've got a couple of others in the works.  Been waiting for the updates and the
new editors to smooth out. Thinking PTO with two strikes and escorts diverted
to intercept.

That pic is for you & well deserved.  I figured that if someone re-does & updates the wiki for us ( :pray) that it could be used to help identify it. :salute

Btw, how did you get the 110s to drop ord?  I thought only bombers could.  Has that been changed? (Well, obviously duh).

I  gotta try this, seems as though the allies are severely outnumbered in terms of defense...but it looks promising!

Awesome mission... I have some screen shots I'm gonna post.

There is only 1 thing I noticed, when I flew allied side the bombers hit but caused no damage... But flying axis side they caused damage... Why the difference??

It's always been that way in offline missions.  I don't know if it's ever been brought to HTC's attention though.
