Title: Is it possible with Windows 7?
Post by: IronDog on December 20, 2009, 01:23:21 PM
I'd like to set up Windows 7 so it would boot up with a streamlined set of processes.I had Windows xp set up that way...A gaming mode, and a normal mode.I've read a lot of blogs about a dual boot set up,but thats not what I want. Thanks in advance for any help.

If you are talking about using a hardware profile, like Windows XP has, the answer is no.  Microsoft took that feature out of Vista and Windows 7.

Thanks Skuzzy....I was afraid of that.I have a little app that gets most of the processes stopped.Running with a few extra processes doesn't seem to bother Windows 7.The days of running only 12 processes  are over! :airplane:

Windows 7 and Vista are considered to be running lean with about 30 to 35 processes running.
