Title: After bailing...
Post by: Swamp Fox on November 29, 2000, 12:05:00 PM
When the pilot is on the ground and walking around after bailing out of an aircraft, is there a way to fire the rifle that is on his back??  Also can you go to another airfield and steal a vehical or plane?

We've been asking for at least a side arm (.45) for the pilot since Beta.

Then you'd have to argue the M1 Carbine vs the Thompson. Then the LW would whine for their MP38's and Kar 98. Then the British would perk up with the Sten (Then again maybe not)

Then the Japanese with the Bergmann and Type 100 SMG's, and the Russian PPSh.

Then there would be arguments over perking some sidearms, overmodeling, etc.

Naw. That can of worms ain't worth opening.

He he, I'll bet the LW would want the FG42... "It was a LW weapon..." and forget about the sweet drilling survival cased sets that were
the historic guns used.
I've seen some of them, nice guns.

Besides, we ALL know that the Beretta M38 was the best sub-gun of the war... :-)

(simulated LW POV on the allied conspiracy)

No way HTC will ever model side arms because the US has so few in the light weapons area.

If the US can carry their carbines and submachine guns, then the LW ought to be able to carry light MG42's.

We will then get togather to get the early German Assault rifles, none of which weigh much more then the Thompson or M1.

btw best SMG of the war was the Sten. If it broke you could reach back in your pack and choose from a dozen more. After all, it was quicker to change guns then it was to change clips, and you could fix 4 or 5 togather for concentrated firepower.

Oh yeah, and the PPSh.

You can literally build a Sten gun in an average garage workshop.

And many were.
