I am looking for some really good pictures of the 1000th B-25H. To me this is such a unique plane, but I am having trouble locating detailed pictures of the top and bottoms of the plane.

I have back at home a lot of pictures of this plane colour ones as well. But after trying for a long time I would say try another plane there is just not enough info to go off of. There is supposed to be a lot of colour film of this plane at the factory as it was being built that to me may be your only chance if you can find it.

Some pictures I still have in my Photobucket account on Bones.

I have more pictures on my PC on this plane but it will be a while before I can get to them.

Thanks Lyric for all those great shots, yea the second one may be better to do. As much as I love to do "BONES" to achieve an authentic look may be difficult with all the different styles of hand writing.

One more of Bones from the 12th BG history.

Thanks Dan! If I can find top pictures I may try it. Just making the larger signatures the legible ones. Much more research to do.

It is a 341st bomb group /491st bomb squadron aircraft or also known as the Ringer squadron.

That looks like a hard bomber to skin look at all the writing!
-
I looked at Bones myself but as you say there's little info on the top and bottom. Also at the resolution we can skin at, a lot of the writing would only be 2-3 pixels high and would look a bit of a mess.

would be awesome to have this skin

all the people who worked in the factory on B25H's signed this plane (because it was the last B25H to leave the factory)

i thought it was the 1000th b25

the factory was being converted for P51's instead (i think?) and that was the last B25H to come out (it entered service and came back home in the same condition it left in)

Not quite right Bones had a mid air collision with a large bird & it sat a while before ground crews tried to clean it up. The stench was so bad they abandoned the aircraft it's final fate is unknown.

Here is a link to a forum you can post in for more info on B-25Hs or any B-25 for that matter.

It was rammed by some unskilled n00b vulture during its last mission. The bird strike went right through the right windscreen, barely missing the pilot and they were able to successfully return to base. A couple of days later the war ended and its final fate is unknown.
