Ah yes -- the Galli Neri, perhaps the most decorated Italian squad of the whole war.  Present at most major battles, they claimed many victims.
  They were feared as an adversary: their reputation was never to leave an attack until their enemy was laid low or they themselves were completely depleted.  In the Battle of the Sienese Hills, they attacked with such vigor that, at the end, the Tuscan countryside was littered with German, American and British bodies.  While their front line was quite deadly, their reserves were absolutely fearsome.
