Wasn't the cv waypoint system changed to keep the cv group from parking too close to shore? If it was then the range of puffy ack should be reduced as well.
I was (lamely) trying to bnz the red guys swarming my base and puffy was going off around me. A whine has been recorded.
Here is a film of it. How many bishies does it take to kill a 109 E4?

Thanks Doc. :salute For a minute there, I thought I was at "Furball Lake". :lol

Wow, lol, I lost count of the number of planes on you there Caldera - did like the "you've a couple on you Snuggie" comment - have to admit it made me giggle a little.
Nice flying btw, doubt I'd have lasted quite that long.

Release note from 2.17 Patch 1:
"Increased the distance of how close CV groups can be brought to land."
Haven't ever heard of the exact distance yet tho.
-
Yeah...if it actually was changed, it wasn't changed much at all...1-2K at the most. I still see CV's brought right up to shore.
-
"Increased the distance of how close CV groups can be brought to land."
That reminds me of a boss who used to ask me to "bring" something to a guy instead of "take" it to him.

Yeah now instead of driving through base buildings, they are back to where they belong, 1k off shore with the 5'' vulching defenders.
-
still too close.

I was going to take a screen shot of a cv group turning and watched several of the ship go across the land. Was thinking about the "upgrade" of the ships not being able to get as close to land.
Holy crap Caldera had no idea you were Snuggie. Was a fun fight last night! Was smiling ear to ear to see a p40 all alone. I was craping when I was nose up at stall...my mistake keeping nose up to long. <S>

Thanks Wurzel. :salute He actually called me Snuggle. It was lucky for me that most base takers aren't accustomed to shooting at moving targets. ;)

That's me - the blanket with sleeves. :D
That was a fun fight. :salute You shot out both flaps so I was on borrowed time. Kind of sucked that I forgot to switch fuel tanks and ran out of gas nose up.
Where were we... yes the cv sitting at anchor right at enemy bases. I think they should be kept at least 1/2 grid away.
As Yul Brenner once said: "So let it be written. So let it be done." :old:

still too close.
+1

Yes it does still get to close. When you lift off the runway and you can see the little guys in dungarees with dixie cups on the ships deck, it's too close...

Even if it's not so close, if I can't see the cv it shouldn't be shooting at me.

sadly that will never change.

A squaddie sent me a SS he took while on a cv and it was not only on shore--it was WAY up on the shore at a port. If I can look around and find it I'll post it.

You are on the list now

It's still too close, just the other day I was taking off and got rammed by a barge driving over the field. :furious
