Title: Searching the BBS?

Where did the functionality to search the boards go?  Have I gone blind and I am overlooking it or did it disappear with the new version of UBB?

The search function is hidden in the FAQ.

The search function was causing server burps in the MA when they were both on the same server. At least I heard that was what happened.

It may come back now that they are separated.

It might get axed out of FAQ now that HTC sees they overlooked one.   :)

If you right click on the thing that says "faq" up above to the far right of the Aces High logo, click copy shortcut, paste  it into the address field and replease ubb=faq with ubb=search you can use the search function.

The search function was causing us problems because it hogs the server's cpu, so we disabled it for now.  Unfortunately, it greatly diminishes the usefulness of the board not to have a search.  A big part of the problem is that we've never pruned the board and we have close to 150,000 posts in the general topic alone.  It's a lot like a garage filled with junk.  The easy thing to do is just toss it all out, but you know there's some stuff in there that you would like to keep.  But if you can't search for it, it doesn't do you much good anyway.

It's not disabled Pyro, I can still access it using the above process I described.
Just ran a search on Mickey1992's member number and came up with all of his posts to the Aces High Gen Discussion forum.

It is working today. I was trying yesterday and the load bar would start to move then jump to the end with no listing displayed. It must have been one of theose bad browser/server days.

Please don't disable the search function!  This board is full of information and knowledge, it would be a waste to destroy it!!

If all else fails, maybe get a dedicated server just for the bbs?  :)
