I think he was talking about the real uh-oh moment in the second film. The airliner in that film did scrap both wings on the runway. There is photos somewhere showing the wing tips scratched up, luckily, it landed safely on the second pass.

Both wings? Unless I missed something, only the left wing was grazed.

However, 150 sets of underwear were completely beyond repair.
