With the strats close to 400mile round trips away now, they really need to stay down more than 45minutes. Almost makes no point bombing them, as they often rebuild before a bomber has even gets home, especially since strats stay retreated near the HQ. Yes i know once you get the city below 50% they rebuild slower, but the effect should be more pronounced and, not limited to 50%. Every 25% should count.
Last night i spend close to 3hours bombing rooks City, i only got in 2 trips, City down 40%, Ammo down to 80%. Net effect on front line? Nothing.
Would be good if we had local transport hubs or something to bomb that isn't 200+ miles away.

Agree, they could use some adjusting.

While the new geography, down times may need some tweaking. I look at it this way, the quicker they pop back up the sooner someone can go back and bomb them again. The action I think it more entertaining/fun than the results. :)

I think some middle ground would be nice. While the action is intensely fun getting in and out of there, there needs to be a lasting, damaging impact (the strategic point of going there).

In other words you would like more things to shoot at while having no negative effect on yourself?

Im not sure Hitech is finished tweaking the strats but I dont think anyone has gone through destroying strats in the proper order. Knights had at one point pushed up to the Rook strats on the NDisles map and had the city down to 0% and it took nearly two hours to finally get the ord down at the 163 base there at which point the emphasis should have been on the troop factory but instead everyone was hitting the refinery and radar factories because they were almost always up and closer to hit.
I think because HTC has not published a 'how to' on strats no one agrees on what to do so its more of a 'hit what you can' event than a true tactic for bombers and GVs both.

To be honest there isn't really anything in the game that's going to negatively effect me. But if you're asking if I just want lop sided easy sorties then that's hardly the case. Most the things I'm shooting at are doing their best to shoot back at me, that's kind of the idea of logging in in the first place. I was just saying that if the strat is leveled and stays down too long it removes that whole option of game play, the action of upping bombers and escorts and trying to hit a deep target in the face of opposition can be and is fun. The attempt and doing is more important than the results.
So no you're actually completely wrong in that assessment.

I think they should fix it so that the strats return to their forward position after the zone bases are recaptured

+1 Yesterday we took 7 flights of B-17s to the knight strats. Took almost all of them below 50%, but they were all back to 100% before we even started our descent for landing.

Perfect!
Now you and your bomber boys have a purpose again.
Who even knows when you buffers get it down 100%?
Perhaps there should be some system message.
SYSTEM: o noes knit strat is down 100%! courtesy the site seer squad.

i agree, nothing is ever "finished" with this game, its a constant evolution of tweaks and additions, just pointing out that i think with the mega strat the down times need to be increased, or the set points they create impact split up more. Currently you have to get the city below 50% (so I've been told) for it to have an effect on Strat rebuild. Wouldn't it be better if it was 75% - 50% - 25% - 0%? or just change it so every percent counts?
Ive always tried to get other buffers to realise that hitting city, and getting it below 50% is the key, instead they'd rather hit the strats, which then rebuild in 45mins.
I similar story to what you said about Knits on Ndisle... When the B24j first came out Fester joined knits for the evening on baltic map.... He set up several B24 missions which of coarse drew in lots of numbers due to people wanting to try out new plane. We bombed City to 0%, Troops to 0%, Radar to 0%. We then run several mini groups to pork all troops around Rook HQ, before knocking HQ down. Without Troops the HQ couldn't be resupplied and it was at least 2 hours without radar! And when it came back up we'd just knock it down again. Those days there was only 1 arena so rooks couldn't log off and join the easy arena, they had to fight.
So, the system does work, however it needs a bit of tweaking i believe, especially with the increased range on the target. Its not every day you can drum up 3-4missions a night with 30+ (90inc drones!!) Buff's hitting targets all over the place... Those days are most certainly gone.

A lot of players do not understand the strat chain and how it works. This table can be found here:
-Hitech Creations main page,
-Game Info tab,
-"Need Training?" link,
-Section titled "Bomber Tactics",
-Subsection titled "Bomber Techniques".
http://trainers.hitechcreations.com/levelbombing/levelbombing.htm
For what is being discussed here, this is the posted downtimes for strat targets. Damaging the city affects the rebuild time of all factories. The more damage, the longer the rebuild. The longer the factory rebuild, the longer the downtime on base strats (barracks, radar, ordnance, ack, fuel).
So, in a perfect world, say if you blast the City and Troop Training, you lengthen downtime of enemy base barracks when they are porked, depending on the percentage you hit the appropriate strat objects.

yeh if you read the thread you can see i understand it, and that alot of other people dont understand it. The Problem is you have to get city below 50% to have any effect on the rebuild times (or so ive been told). So you could get the city to 51% and the Strats will still reup very fast. It doesnt seem to be 3hours at all, it never has done.
