Hey, I've been flying the last 2 days again under a different name ' DutchGuy' and i started to learn flying the 'Hogs'. I noticed there weren't so many skins for the 4 and c hog. I did a search on google for some profiles to skin these but with no luck.
So my question is, is there anyone in here who would like to share pictures/profiles with the historical data? If you do please post it it this topic so i can go ahead and have some nice hog skins for 2010!
Thanks in advance!

Few were made with the -1c and only a few squadrons flew it.
In the case of the -4 it came too late to see much service and as such wasnt put into many squadrons.
-
every -4 i have found didn't make it to the Pacific in time to fight. Found a bunch of VF-17 4 hogs but they were a couple weeks late to the party.

Paraphrased:
There weren't that many that saw service, either.
There's just not many options for it.
The U.S. Navy discouraged individuality where it didn't pertain to necessity as well. F6's had the "mouth" on them about a month before the brass forced them to be removed.
You can't find anything more for skins because there probably aren't any.

geometric shapes used of ID are about as creative you will find for the later birds.

Bummer!

Dutch,
You might try looking up seperate VF/VMF squadron historys from WWII. The only squadrons I can think of right off the bat that used these birds in combat were.
F4U-1C: VF-85 and VMF 311
F4U-4: VF-10 and VMF 222
I'm not saying this is all just all I know of without doing a little research.
