Title: Nvidia 192 driver issues
Post by: Vulcan on December 31, 2009, 05:01:56 PM
Just a FYI, I run a GTX285 and recently upgraded to these drivers from 186. AH suddenly pegged at 28fps (I run at 800x600 so this is odd). Even turning vsync off didn't fix it. Rolling back to the 186 drivers fixed things, so beware of the 192 drivers.

I run at 800x600 ...

Why such a low resolution for a card that strong?

I use the same resolution, only because I need to increase frame rates on an old Nvidia 5500.

Im able to run the 275 full bore and still nail 60 fps almost all the time. The 192 driver has been a rock for me. :headscratch:

"Why such a low resolution for a card that strong?"

If I remember right, he uses the VR goggles which only support 800x600, but I could be wrong...happens a lot.

As for the 192 Drivers, I think that's what I'm running on a GTX 260, works fine, maybe it's only buggy for 285s?  Or maybe it changed some setting in the Nvidia Control panel that capped it at 28?

I think there was a bug with the 3D StereoVision aspect of the latest drivers. With that installed on my system I was getting a lot of lag and micro-stutters but I have to say this was over the Christmas week when Skuzzy said people were on the net a lot (seasonal). The drivers for 8800s and 295s are working fine.

You would be correct. I double tripled checked the control panel, tried offline mode etc, no changes.
