i got a new Cyborg headset but i cant seem to get them to work. first i had sound and no mic now after tweeking with it i have mic on windows and no sound but in game i have no sound nor do i have a mic.
any help setting these dang things up would be nice thanks in advance

the cyborg headset comes with sound card.
OS is XP

So your computer now has multiple sound devices. You will have to go into the sound control panel for Windows and select which device is the playerback device and which device is the recording device.
Note: There are applications that will change thises for you, periodically requiring you to go back in and reset them. Windows does not deal with multiple sound devices.

One of two things could be happening then.
1) The headset's drivers do not support DirectSound.
2) The headset's sound card doe snot know how to pass an interrupt that is not for itself and it is sharing an IRQ with another device.
Both issues are driver related.
That's my best guess. Windows just gets flaky when there is more than one sound device, especially if those sound devices are sharing interrupts with other devices.
