I am a Warbirds guy (blasphemy). I have only been playing online flight sims (Warbirds) for 3 moinths, but I do get an occassional kill. I have layed AH on and off since then, and am starting to see that this game has many many more features than WB, so I am making the switch.
So I am not a total noob. I know how to takeoff, land, use the rudder occassionally, and fire guns :) Anyways, I am looking for a squad that is willing to train, and plays alot. More importantly, has the patience to deal with a relative newcomer to flight sims and AH. I am a husband and father and hold a steady job. So please, no inmature squad filled with 15 year olds. I am a big fan of the P51, Spitfire VIII and also like to fly Buffs.
Thanks in advance.

May I suggest using the Squadrons forum (scroll down to the bottom of the forum list)? :old:

Welcome. You've found the right flight sim! Wrong forum section though. http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/board,19.0.html

I wonder since he's NEW, he wasn't quite sure of where to put the thread.
Cut the guy some slack, it isn't a "whine, cheat, BS, etc" type thread.
Welcome Pap.

welcome to the game papa, you can fly with "Random squad name" squad. We're just having fun and loosing our weeklys worth of 262s.

And that's why he was just pointed into the right direction. No one was criticizing or belittling him

Welcome Pap, there's a lot of us that came here from Brand W.
Happy Landings :aok

You're jumping to conclusions. All I'm saying is "who cares where this thread should have gone". A bunch of us are tired of the BS threads and this is not one of those.

You'll find a bunch of great squads on all 3 chess pieces. Many will gladly let you tag along for awhile. A lot depends on what you want. I'm sure you'll find one thats a good fit for you :salute

Welcome papajohns!
I can't make the decision on letting you into my squad because I'm not the XO or the CO, but I'd be glad to help you out in the dueling arena or training arena sometime. We can set up a time if you want.

Welcome aboard Papjohns - lots of WB refuges here - myself included - and yes this is a much more advanced envioronment from what we had there. Take a litlle time to get your bearings - hit up some of the Trainers - an hour or 2 spent there will really make a difference.
Too bad about your poor taste in rides <d,rlh> heheheh But there are a lot of great Squads to choose from - fly with a few as a guest till you find a good fit.
As far as sides to fly with there are the well known heathen Rooks and the perverted Bishops :neener:- of course us Knights are...well we are ALL knightly!! :aok
....cheers eh! :D

Hey pap. Here's our group's web site http://www.91stbombgroup.net/ (http://www.91stbombgroup.net/) thndrEGG is our C.O. We do large B-17 missions but have a lot of fun in a variety of game aspects. Welcome to AH!

I would suggest touring all the arenas, and all the sides. The best way to land with a squad you can be at home with, is to fly with them before you join. Most squads are more than happy to have "tag-a-longs", and many work with other squads and solo pilots on a regular basis.
Welcome to AH, and best of luck to you :salute

Great advice. Take your time to get to know the squads. Not all are created equal. Generally speaking, a squad that will automatically accept a brand new player is not the same calibre as a squad that wants to take the time for ya's to get to know each other first.
I would also advise you to consider training. Find out if the squad offers training to its new members.

Here's what we do! Also, we do a monthly training night and our next one is the 16th of January at 8PM Central. We are going to be focusing on our basic flying and bombing tactics with formations and all that. You are more than welcome to join us in MA or just on our training night. Bish vox 191.
