I wish that the "Show new replies to your posts" button would change color or become boldface when there were new replies to your posts. This would keep you from having to constantly check if you have new replies or not. Or perhaps put that "new" icon in front of it to show that something is there.
This is my wish.

The "New" icon does appear with all new replies. Also, in your profile, you have the option to receive an email notification of posts to all you originate or have read where you made a post/reply.

No, hold on, let me explain to you what I'm getting at.
Go to http://www.flyaceshigh.com/frindex.html , and click on "Forums", log in, and don't go anywhere. Go to the top of the page. There you will see a link called "Show new replies to your posts." I want that link to light up, change color, go boldface, or something to notify me that I should click on it to see the latest replies to my posts.
Example:
I was posting in the O'Club about AGW, now I am fervently awaiting a reply to my post to start the debate again. I don't want to have to keep clicking to check if something new was posted in reply.
Therefore, I wish that the link called "Show new replies to your posts." would light up, change color, go boldface or otherwise notify me that I should click it because something new was posted in reply to one or more of my posts.
So let's say that nobody posted, it reads exactly: "Show new replies to your posts."
Then somebody posts, it then reads exactly: Show new replies to your posts.
That's what I want.

Upper right underneath the upper display, see 'NOTIFY' ?
Using that you can either discontinue getting notices of new replies or get notices of replies on subjects you didn't even reply to.

Ok, I understand.
Now, I get emails for every post I open or respond to because I set my profile to do that for me. Actually got 33 emails today. (from this and the others I posted or have previously posted to.) I clicked the "Show new replies to your posts" just now..and I fail to see the need, in all honesty. Also, the emails allow us to "Unsubscribe" to anything we wish-selectively.
It works for me but I guess you want it to do more. OK, but I am neutral on this one.
Here is one of the many emails for this post/topic I received today-others were the rest who also replied:
