Up until 3 days ago I had zero issues. Now I can log in but as soon as I do anything such as switch fields, up a plane, then whole computer reboots. I have run 2 full system scans and no viruses are on computer. The only anomaly I see is before this started my C drive was nearly full (just around 1 gig left free). Now it has almost 3gig free. I would think that a file got deleted from AH except that AH is on the D drive. I even check my fans in the box thinking I was having a heat issue but they are all going full bore. I am at wits end on this....

Keeps getting better. Now AH won't run at all. Everytime I try to login I get whitescreened. If I do manage to get logged in (1 in 5 tries) the computer reboots.

Try the game off-line, see if its the game or your connection. If it runs fine off line then your connection may be hosed. Dumping packets will cause the game to crash. If it crashes off line as well the game may have a corupt file. Downloading and installing over the game may fix that.

My real concern is the whole computer rebooting when i run AH
-
Probably a heat issue on the CPU or voltage dropout from the PSU.
-
Agreed.

I gave all the fans and interior and good blasting with compressed air to rule out a clogged heatsink. The computer will now sometimes run fine for hours on end as long as I don't boot AH. However this afternoon it rebooted twice right after startup. It gives no errors at all it reacts just like I push the reset button for a hot boot.

Power supply going bad? Video card?
-
I would think power supp first..vid card is less than a year old.
-
The computer has only rebooted once in the last 2 days. Now however when I try to start the game as soon as I click the online arena I whitescreen. I reinstalled last AH patch and lastest NVIDIA driver for vid card. On a side note I can log in offline just fine. Soon as I try to connect online I get whitescreened.

Rename the 'settings' folder. There is a good chance a file could have gotten corrupted during the other random reboots.
-
I think I found the problem. However, renaming settings folder wiped out password. I sent an email to support to get it again. It seems I somehow got a second copy of AH installed to my second HD which may have been the issue.
-
Renaming the 'settings' folder does not 'wipe out' the login. It is still in the renamed folder in the file "login.cfg".
-
got back in. appears that phantom copy of AH or the settings folder was the problem. thanks for all the help.

as an update to my issue...after fso last friday was over i got to hear a loud pop and the computer shut down. it smelled like a fried PS but i picked up a new one and still it won't fire up. I'm thinking ye ol MB took a dump.

sorry I got in here too late, I see you blew compressed air but did you check your cpu's heatsink? after a while they get so clogged with dust you have to remove them and clean them by hand. sounds like either your cpu blew, or a capacitor on the mb, or possibly one on your vid card. heck, I hope it's your mb, they are cheaper to replace than either a cpu or a vid card. good luck bud.
