Why is it that once your account gets deleted because you don't make a payment you can't get that account back, I mean how much computer space would it take up to keep all that kind of info, my account was deleted a couple months ago, I have another one now, but it would have been nice to get all my perks back.
Or how about when you want to change your name that you lose all your perks, isn't there anyway to transfer that info to the new in-game I.D?
Thats something I'd like to see put into the game.

Many MMOs allow for an accounts to be placed on hold. Why HTC does not allow it is unknown.

Agreed. Everyone at one point or another has a bit of financial trouble. Early in '09, I had my account locked a couple times. Was not for long, but it did happen. I emailed billing and they were very forgiving. :rock You might try that, trax.

My guess would be small company, not enough manpower for the extra work.

All right, sorry for the snarky tone. Still, there is a big difference between intentionally allowing your account to go past due and requesting a hold on the same.
And my mommy only pays for my psychotherapy bills.

I dont know the truthful answer to that question........ I can say this....... several times Ive gone through and cleared old names off the squad roster that I know havent had an active account in quite some time at least 6 mos or more....... so given that Id say NO........ but since I really dont know its just a guess
I do wonder though.......... if an account is closed..... and they arent saving the name...... then why is it not available as a new name? meaning any noob could grab it or if still available you yourself could grab it when you open your new account......... since its not available must mean that the name is stored in some file as taken....... and if thats the case then why could the same name not be reused by you under that account?.......... I know they keep old accounts on file because Ive reopened the same account after taking a few months off in the past....... same login name etc....... just different cpid
of course theres more to it than just a name...... it also carries the perks along with it...... which is most likely the nitty gritty of everyones quest in reusing the same name........ and that brings about a totally different set of circumstances...... are the names that are stored and cant be reused seperated from the associated perks.......... or is there actually a database (which Im quite sure there is) that actually has all the information and could potentially be reused, they have just made a decision not to allow it for their reasons (which they do make the rules so they have the right)...... as far as the suggestion that theyre a small company with limited resources...... were talking about a database file that would be very small in size maybe a MB or 2 if that big

It is a marketing/sales strategy. There are some who are borderline about to leave the game, or at least take a break, but continue on with their subscription to avoid the hassle of acquiring a new callsign and new perks. The money is not a major issue for these people. The marginal value of monthly revenue from this group of people exceeds the revenue lost from a second group: customers cancelling their subscription due to unhappiness with this billing strategy. Therefore, the system stays in place.
